Why Lucas And Peyton Are The Best Thing About One Tree Hill

Yes, they are better than "Naley"

Why Lucas And Peyton Are The Best Thing About One Tree Hill

Oh One Tree Hill, OTH some might call it. Really, such a darn classic. And the best thing about it- the turbulent relationship that is Lucas and Peyton. Don't give me that "Naley is the best" garbage, because you are wrong. Lucas and Peyton were really the only thing that kept me sitting in my bed for several hours in the middle of last June. Everyone seemed to have already gone through this dumb show, and I told them all I would never fall into the deep trap that is OTH, but I did. And it was great. Because of-you guessed it!- Lucas and Peyton.

Lets start at the beginning, during simpler times.

Literally the very beginning, the pilot episode. When this legendary interaction happened.

Ahh yes the first time of there meeting when Peyton is oh so cold. But Lucas don't care. There perfectly compatible minds finally meet and are much more interesting than silly season one Haley. Boooo Haley

Because Peyton is cool.

She just is. With her cool Ramones shirt and her records and her sketches of everything and her webcam-circa 2003, and her 1960s convertible. She is teenage angst. Peyton is half the team in this dynamic duo, and most of the time the better half.

But hey Lucas pretty cool too

He likes her...a lot. Sending her art to that magazine and fixing her car and saving her and stuff. Gosh and they're both so damn deep. How could you care about anything else in this show?

Because of this moment

Prompted by the wonderful Brooke Davis, this is the moment we were waiting for ya'll.

Because even when Brooke gets in the way, she doesn't. And we get more of this

And this was a tad frustrating, but who cares. Because Lucas is so dedicated to Peyton the last thing he's thinking about is Brooke.

Because Lucas wakes up from his coma and who's there:

Oh look it's Peyton!

And because Lucas is there to support his girl too

Of course, a good ol' hospital scene can bring any couple closer together!

Because Lucas finally made this realization:

It's you Peyton! (ring any bells?)

After Peyton asks him this provoking question:

Because Lucas is quite literally always saving her.

Whether it be crazy psychos or gunshot wounds, Lucas saves her life a few times there.

Because your art matters.

Only one of their most famous/spectacular/deep lines. They're so artsy and they both tell each other at some point-well your art matters.

Because even this lady couldn't deny the chemistry.

Oh lol...when you thought he was gonna be with someone else. But no! If we take a closer look at this image, right in the center to be specific, who do we see? Peyton Sawyer folks.

Because we knew from the start

I mean those looks though

And last but not least, they also share this funny moment

The best.

They were truly great, even when they vanish away after season 6, I mean Peyton did say people always leave, guess she was talking about herself lol! But we can't be mad at them forever, and at least they make their final return in the end.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
