1. Meek Mill
This is probably the longest streak of beef that Drake has had with somebody. Countless diss tracks between Meek and Drake began in July 2015 after Meek called Drake out on twitter. In this lyric, Drake makes a whole diss rap to attack Meek.
Diss Lyric: "Wow, I’m honored that you think this is staged
I’m flattered man, in fact, I’m amazed
The perfect start to the summer, man this shit is a doozy
This shit a twist in the movie but don't jump to conclusions." (Charged Up)
2. Kid Cudi
Drake's beef surfaced with Cudi on his new track, "Two Birds, One Stone." Drake dissed Cudi as a result of Cudi's tweet about ghostwriters. This lyric touches on Cudi's struggle with addiction and proves to be a new low for Drake's list of subliminal disses.
Diss Lyric: "You were the man on the moon
Now you just go through your phases
Life of the angry and famous
Rap like I know I'm the greatest
Then give you tropical flavors
Still never been on hiatus
You stay xann'd and perk'd up
So when reality set in, you don't gotta face it." (Two Birds, One Stone)
3. Tyga
Tyga and Drake's beef dates back to the Young Money days. In an interview with Vibe magazine, Tyga said Drake was a fake person and he didn't like him. The beef unraveled from there and Drake threw subliminal shots at Tyga in his music. In this lyrics Drake takes shots at Tyga and Kylie Jenner's relationship.
Diss lyric: "I heard a little little homie talking reckless in Vibe
That's quite a platform you chose
You should've kept it inside—oh, you tried
It's so childish calling my name on the world stage
You need to act your age and not your girl's age." (6PM in New York)
4. Tory Lanez
Two rival artists from the 6, Tory Lanez and Drake were bound to beef or be bros. In their case, the beef between these two Toronto artists is very unclear. Both rappers chose to hit each other with subliminals in their music. My guess is the competition to be the best artist from the 6. In this lyric, Drake jabs at Lanez by saying that Lanez wants to be like Drake and it is also a play on words, referencing Lanez's album The New Toronto.
Diss lyric: "All you boys in the New Toronto want to be me a little." (Summer Sixteen)
5. Joe Budden
Drake's beef with Joe Budden dates back to the release of Drake's album Views. According to Hot New Hip Hop, the beef began when Budden trashed Drake's album in his podcast. Since then, both have taken to diss tracks. In this lyric, Drake uses a line from Budden's top hit, "Pump It Up," and uses it against him to say that Drake is a bigger artist; the artist that Budden wishes he was. Drake is saying that "Pump It Up," was Budden's only popular song, while all of Drake's songs are popular.
Diss lyric: " Pump, pump, pump it up
She got a good head on her, but I pump it up
I'm not a one hit wonder, they know all my stuff
You let me turn into the n***a that you almost was." (No Shopping)
