There Is A Pattern Of History Being Torn Down And It Needs To End

Recently, I saw a post on Facebook and ended up sharing it. The post was a screenshot of a removed post that had been flagged for violating Facebook’s community Standards. A person named Carter Braxton made the post and included the text:

“When the Nazis took control of Poland and other Warsaw nations, they destroyed statues they didn’t like. When the North Vietnamese communists took over the south after the American evacuation, they destroyed statues and monuments they didn’t like. When the Taliban came into power in Afghanistan, they destroyed statues they didn’t like. When ISIS started taking control of areas in Iraq, they destroyed statues they didn’t like. Now, liberals are in control of major cities in America are starting to remove statues they don’t like. Notice a trend?”

This is a huge concern to me. Now, something I will not get into right now is a political debate over who should have won the American presidential election in 2016. Obviously, Donald Trump won, and contrary to a popular belief, yes he is your president. This article is to talk about the similarities of what the post highlighted in world history in the last century.

In the time period span of 1939-1941, Nazi Germany under the instruction of Adolf Hitler invaded Poland, the Soviet Union and many other countries. This was actually a huge turning point in World War II as Nazi Germany’s blitzkrieg efforts failed in their attempt at taking Stalingrad, Moscow and other surrounding cities in the Soviet Union.

The Nazi army begins to run low on ammunition supplies and the harsh Russian winter begins to take their toll on the foreign soldiers. The Soviet Union soldiers corner the German troops and force surrender in February of 1942. During the time of Nazi Germany’s invasion of these countries, many structures and statues were torn down if they disagreed with the Nazi dictator, Hitler’s visions and beliefs.

From 1955 to 1975 Northern Vietnam was in a state of war. North Vietnam had attacked and invaded Southern Vietnam in an attempt to spread their communism beliefs and tactics through the whole nation. This was an attempt to reunify the country. The United States of American intervened in a relief effort to prevent the total spread of communism over the eastern Asia continent. Northern Vietnam destroyed their southern nation. Destroying cities, destroying monuments, destroying anything to force surrender. When US forces retracted, the south fell to the north and the nation was reunified.

In 1996, a group named the Taliban invaded Afghanistan. In 1997 the Taliban publically executed Najibullah the president of Afghanistan, amidst destroying the city and anything relating to their culture.. In 2000, a year before the September 11th, 2001 attack on the United States, the Taliban began an alliance with al-Qaida, the known terrorist group that took responsibility for the attacks on the US. The Taliban refused to extradite the group leader Osama bin Laden for his involvement in the Embassy bombing. The US eventually invaded Afghanistan and executed bin Laden.

By now, it is probably clear where my point is leading.

In 2015, the most recent widely known terrorist group named ISIS posted videos destroying ancient irreplaceable in Iraq. A headline I remember reading as this broke news read, ISIS destroys thousands of years of culture almost overnight.

Now, in 2017 we have reached the year where liberals have began to tear down history, tear down statues and monuments they do not like, that they do not agree with.

Have you ever heard the old saying, “history repeats itself”? Well its staring right at you.

Liberals are trying to rewrite history. They are repeating known dictators and terrorist’s actions. Someone I actually went to high school with and was actually very close with until this last year and who identifies as a very strong liberal posted a photo this year of the Robert E. Lee statue in Dallas being taken away.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that many people view Robert E Lee as a racist. This has nothing to do with the fact that many people think the Confederate flag is racist. Believe whatever you want to believe because forcing opinions upon those that refuse to see another side of the story will never make them see the true history. But what this does represent is the pattern of known vicious dictators and terrorists actions being recreated by those who actually have the audacity to call Trump a fascist, dictator or even go as far as comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

It is time for America to open their eyes over this issue. It is time for America to stop letting liberals tear down and rewrite history.

Slavery did happen. Racism was a prominent issue in the United States. But rewriting the history does absolutely nothing for the future generations. This is brainwashing, this is not right.

Please recognize the pattern before it is too late.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
