When I was younger, my sister was told that she couldn’t be baptized
All because her information on Jesus wasn’t up to size.
She knew that He loved her so much that He died for her sin
But in their eyes, that was not enough to win.
This was the time I realized that Christians are not always following Christ.
They missed the God who paid the ultimate sacrifice
For the people who were so overpriced.
They missed that they were keeping a child from meeting her true King
And all of the great and marvelous things He would bring.
One of the most beautiful parts of following God is that we don’t always have the right answers.
Our questions and prayers swirl around in our heads like tiny dancers.
Causing us to worry and seek our own solutions and substitutions.
But then God taps us on the shoulder,
Reminding us that without Him, we are so much colder.
As we stumble on our weak legs
And try to balance our world on fragile pegs,
God watches us and waits for the moment that we invite Him in.
And when we do, he doesn’t just hold us up with his hand,
He washes away our sin
And tells us He is proud of where we stand.
Of where I stand.
Humbled by the power of a God who can craft a man with his hand
Calmed by a God who told the seas to still
All so that one day I could be his quill.
Writing on the hearts of the people I meet
This life is one that could never be beat.
Sometimes not knowing the answers is a good thing.
Isn’t that why we sing?
Sometimes it takes mores questions to reach a solution than the answers.
Isn’t that how we are dealing with cancers?
If we had it all.
Then we would have the cross to haul.
There would be no need for a God who could take away our pain
Everything would be done in our own gain.
No satisfaction. No greater purpose.
No one there to watch over us and love us.
When I was younger, my sister was told that she couldn’t be baptized
All because her information on Jesus wasn’t up to size.
She knew that He loved her so much that He died for her sin
But in Jesus’ eyes, that was enough to win.
