How I Met Your Mother is a wonderful show. It's full of fun, sweet, and wacky moments that make you wish it was real. As much as I do love the show, its characters, and life lessons, there are a few things I'd like to talk about that made me wish it had all been different. A spoiler alert is in place with this list, so if you don't want to be disappointed, click away now.

1. Barney Sleeping With Robin

Giphy

Season 3, Ep. 17: The Goat

On Ted's 30th birthday, it's revealed that Barney and Robin slept together. The two decided to pretend it never happened, but Barney was having a hard time dealing with the guilt. After attempting to overcompensate for "betraying" Ted, Ted reveals to Barney that he knows about him and Robin. Robin had spilled the beans as Ted was packing his things to move out. This caused Ted to become furious with Barney, subsequently breaking off their friendship. The issue I had was: Why did Ted care? He was very happy with Stella, Ted and Robin had broken up over a year ago, and he only blamed Barney. What's up with that? I wouldn't have cared if I had moved on and began dating someone else who was amazing (at that moment in the show), and if my friends had a one-night stand with each other, I probably would've laughed. It seemed like a strange moment in the show for Ted to break off the friendship he'd had since 2001 for a girl he met, dated, and broken up with four years later.

2. Robin Attending Ted & Stella's Wedding

Giphy

Season 4, Ep. 5: Shelter Island

This is something I was very upset about. Ted had finally gotten over Robin. It was time for him to settle down with Stella, albeit it was a quick transition, he felt like he was ready. Robin had become one of Ted's closest friends following their break-up over a year beforehand. Stella decided to tell Ted he wasn't allowed to invite Robin to their wedding, starting an argument that left Ted powerless. Barney didn't help by not telling Robin she couldn't come. Stella stated all the reasons it was a bad idea to invite an ex to the wedding, and Ted ended up inviting Tony, her ex-husband, out of pity. This led to a whirlwind of problems. Robin felt wrong about being at the wedding, even though Ted wanted her to come, and Stella ended up leaving Ted at the altar when Tony won her back. All of this and Ted still didn't get the girl.

3. Barney & Robin's Divorce

Giphy

Season 9, Ep 23: Last Forever - Part One

It was here. Barney and Robin were finally married. After years of Barney wanting Robin, and Robin wanting Barney, it finally happened. Or so we thought... In this episode we see Barney and Robin argue about Robin's career not being flexible enough for their marriage. When the whole gang meets up, they disclose that they got a divorce, just three years after their dream wedding. The gang was clearly very upset and so were viewers of this magnificent show. It was hard to see the whole ninth season wrap up this way after most of the season consisted of building up Barney and Robin's relationship. Despite how this show ended, this is one couple I think we all agree shouldn't have been ripped apart. Never going to let it go.

4. Ted and Victoria's Break-Up

Giphy

Season 1, Ep. 18: Nothing Good Happens After 2 A.M.

Both Ted and Victoria were not saints. Ted had feelings for Robin while dating Victoria and those feelings only grew in strength after Victoria decided to go to Germany for a culinary internship. Ted didn't know whether to ask Victoria to stay or not and it wasn't until this episode that everything collapsed. Ted went over to see Robin at two in the morning. He set himself up to fail, even though Lily warned him to break up with Victoria before going to see Robin. Ted and Robin began to get physical when Ted finally decided to break up with Victoria over the phone before anything escalated further. He ended up grabbing Robin's phone by accident, and by the time he noticed, Robin answered the phone when Victoria called. This then caused a falling out between Ted and Robin, delaying their relationship. Later on, we find out that Victoria had also cheated on Ted with a man named Klaus. Talk about unfaithful.

5. The Mother Dying

Giphy

Season 9, Ep. 24: Last Forever, Part Two

I screamed at the top of my lungs when they showed The Mother, Tracy, in a hospital bed. After years and years of Ted searching and getting his heart broken multiple times, he still couldn't have the woman who was actually the most perfect person for him. They were almost exactly alike and they were so happy together, but the writers decided that everyone wanted Ted and Robin to end up together. The worst finale I've ever seen.

As much as I love this show, there are five things that made me want to throw my TV out. I wish it had been written better in some spots and the ending should've been handled better. All in all, this was a great show that made me care about every single character. Watch it if you dare.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
