In the past two weeks, a lot has happened in the world of politics for Democratic and Republican parties. Two weeks of speeches from politicians, celebrities and activists. There were many demonstrations outside of the conventions from protesters of different parties, and there were also debates discussing important issues. But now that both parties have elected their nominees, here comes best part of the election the big storm, the duel, the colossal of two titans.
Hillary Clinton VS Donald J. Trump
So, it should be an easy choice, right? Well about that...
Both of these candidates are not saints as we know, and both of them have their particular way of getting under your skin. One is racist and the other a corporate sell out. One acts like a robot and the other like a douchebag. These candidates can be a little unorthodox in how they play politics and how they have tried to get your vote. Their histories are both laughable and irritating at the same time. I’m like, “Wait, that's it? That's all the candidates we have to choose from?”
Both candidates have their dark pasts, and people are just terrified of how this election might turn out.
Some people claim these elections have been rigged — especially after the scandal of private emails from the Democratic Party was released to the public several days before the DNC (Democratic National Convention). People felt betrayed and protested outside of the convention because most of those emails are mainly staff of Democrats working against Senator Bernie Sanders. Supporters from Senator Sanders said they rather not vote instead of being under the control of Hillary. By this situation, the odds of this election may turn to Donald Trump since many of the voters for Bernie Sanders will not be voting for the candidates in this election. Trump might have a chance to win the election.
That is the scary part. Trump might win this election. The national polls from different media outlets have Hillary and Trump neck-and-neck. In the Fox News national poll, Trump led Clinton among all registered voters, 45 percent to 42 percent – a reversal from last month, when Clinton had a seven-point lead, 48 percent to 41 percent. A CBS News/New York Times poll conducted over roughly the same period found Clinton up by six points, 47 percent to 41 percent. In polls from both parties, Clinton earns roughly the same percentage of Democrats (88 percent) as Trump does of Republicans (85 percent). The CBS News/New York Times poll compared with Fox showed a tied race among independent voters.
This election might be a bigger race than the last election in 2012 between Obama and Romney. At this point in this election, it comes to choosing the best of the worst candidates. It sounds funny as it seems at the beginning, but sh*t got real.
I know, I know, you don’t like that these are your only choices, and it sucks. But at this point, we only have a choice between a hothead/fascist/anti-freedom of expression/”I’m huge” businessman candidate or a corporate sellout/liar/against-women's-rights/not-fit leader candidate.
God help us all.
