To My High School Friends, As We Go Our Separate Ways

No matter where life takes us, I will never forget the friendships we shared.

A huge chapter in our lives has just ended and a new one is about to begin. We've spent the last twelve years working to get to this point in our lives... And we have finally made it.

Two months ago we walked across the stage in front of our family and friends and received our diplomas. We thought that was the end of our story, but truly it is just beginning.

Throughout High school, we shared in a lot of experiences. We went to football games, cookouts, farm days, student appreciation days, and other games and events. Sadly, all of that has now come to an end. We went to our last Highschool football games together, last events together, and we walked across the stage together one last time.

In high school, we also shared in each other's breakups, makeups, wins, losses, and everything in between. We were the close knit group that always stuck together and never let anyone fall. Though we won't be all together anymore, I want all of you to know I'll still be here for yall through anything. And I want to thank you guys for being here for me through this time, because if it weren't for you guys I wouldn't have made it through highschool.

Lastly, I want to bring up graduation day. It was one day that we were all together and may be the last day were ever alltogether again. It was a bittersweet day, and a day we all hugged and we said our goodbyes. Tears were shed and emotions shared as we promised to keep in touch, but that will slowly fade and the promises will surely be forgotten.

Some of us may keep in touch and some of us may make an effort and still eventually loose it. It's not that we mean to, or that we don't want to, but means that eventually we will all be in different places in life. We may loose touch, but that doesn't mean the friendships will fade. We will never forget each other or the time that we spent together.

My promise to you guys is that if you ever need anything I'll still be here weather we keep in touch or not. No matter how far away we are or how long we go without speaking, we can always pick it up right where we left it and talk like we've been together forever

And if we do indeed loose touch and years from now we meet in a cute little coffee shop one day, we can have a cup coffee and reminisce about the past and the present and what had changed in our lives.

Leaving each other seems like a drastic change, but together we've grown and we are now ready to spread our wings and see where this life takes us. I wish you all the best of luck on on your endeavors in life!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
