It's a wild time for most high school seniors across the country right now. Many have just finished applying to college and now are waiting in anticipation for the results. They've just entered their second semesters (and last) semester of school and prom, senior trips, and graduation are right around the corner! In this busy time period, it can be easy to forget some things. So here are 5 things all high school seniors should know right now!

You will miss high school.

Personally, I couldn't wait to leave high school. Starting January of my senior year I had a mental countdown of the number of days until I would finally be "free". But now as a college freshman, I can tell you that I seriously miss the carefree, simple high school days. Once you enter college or move on to your post-graduation plans you will find yourself missing the things that once annoyed you the most about high school. Treasure those final moments at high school because one day you'll find yourself wanting to relive them again.

Consider your college of choice seriously.

Consider all aspects of the colleges you got into. This includes financial aid, location, and school makeup. Parents, teachers, and peers may pressurize you to pick a certain school. And although you can always transfer after your first year, try your hardest to make sure that the school you ultimately choose is the best, overall option for you.

Hang out with your friends.

One thing I miss the most about high school is my friends. It's easy to take them for granted as we see them every day and they are always there. But in college, it becomes harder to see and talk to those friends. So as your time in high school comes to end find time to hang out with these friends.

Appreciate your teachers.

Seriously! You may think your teachers and classes are hard now but wait till you get to college. I miss the teachers that would know everyone's name in the class and would genuinely be looking out to actively help you succeed. Take some time before the school year ends to value the teachers who worked so hard to get you where you are.

It's all going to be okay.

Your life right now is going to feel crazy and stressful and confusing (if it doesn't already!). College rejections, rocky friendships, and prom drama will soon pass and while this period of your life is overwhelming know that at the end of the day you will end up at the right place for you. And whether you're going to college or not, know that everything will be okay at the end.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
