The pages in your chapter called “high school” are running out. You’re about to enter the homestretch. Enjoy the moments and the memories that you make. Here’s some advice that I’ve gathered from those who have been in your shoes.
1. Enjoy time spent in your hometown.
2. Keep your grades high, and stress low.
3. If you’re taking AP exams, take them seriously. Now is not the time to slack off.
4. And if you aren’t, don’t slack off either.
5. That being said, have fun with friends and family.
6. Plan for prom.
7. Leave relationships with classmates on a positive note.
8. Work out and eat healthy because the Freshman 15 is real.
9. Eat your favorite home cooked meals before you experience the wonders known as diner food.
10. Eat at your favorite restaurants will people you love.
11. Who knows how often you’ll see your friends and family once school starts… remind them how much you love them.
12. Thank your family members.
13. Thank your friends.
14. Thank your teachers.
15. Basically, thank those who helped you along the way.
16. Travel. Plan for beach week or some type of senior trip.
17. Drive to school knowing that there are things more important than who gets the best parking spot or Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast.
18. But then again, enjoy your commute. It will probably be your shortest one. If you love Dunkin’ swing by it on your way to school.
20. Drive around town with your friends.
21. Spend time with your friends at your favorite hangout sports.
22. Celebrate birthday and holidays with your friends and family like you’ve never done before. It may be the last time for a while that you celebrate in person.
23. Decide on a school. When you’ve made the right choice you’ll know.
24. Show your school spirt at athletic events. Go to that basketball or baseball game… spend time with your friends.
25. If you have goals that you hoped to accomplish by the end of high school, act on them now. Better late then never.
26. Count the days down, and appreciate the ones you have.
