High School Seniors: Don't Grow Up Too Fast!!

When I was a senior I had the basic senior dream. I would move out of my parents' house, be on my own, the basics. When I applied for financial aide that dream went right out the window. I did not receive any grants. I had to pay for school out of my own pocket and college is expensive.

Even though I go to Rend Lake it still takes a huge chunk of money for classes. I was silly in high school and didn't save money like I should have and I regret it to this day. I am learning responsibility though.

My advice is save everything you can, ask for help from your parents to save ( they will love to help you), and don't try to grow up too fast. You are still young. Enjoy life but be responsible at the same time.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.
