A high school experience told through mozzarella sticks.

High school during lunch

Yay, I'm so excited!! My first lunch period in High school. I heard great things about it. I also heard they give large portions, and it's hard to eat them. But my parents said this school has the best lunch, so I went along with what they said. Before going to the cafeteria, I watched many YouTube videos on how to eat effectively and calmly. Some things I learned is that you can't eat it straight away. You got to divide the time and can't procrastinate in eating it since we have limited time.

The lunch lady gave me my lunch tray with four big mozzarella sticks, some fruits, some dessert, and some green vegetables, which I hated. I couldn't believe the size of them. In other schools, they are medium size, but these are BIG. They were filled with lots of materials( double layers of bread with a golden top and inside was (from what I have heard) filled in with hot white cheese that melts your mouth. Let's see if I can finish them.

Mozzarella #1: This one was easy and delicious. It didn't have a lot of bread on top. I enjoyed it because I made new friends and quite a while to finish. My friends and I exchanged snacks and helped each other out with anything.

Mozzarella #2: This one was a bit big. And I was getting a bit full. Some of my friends tried to hide it because they are already too lazy to finish it. But the lunch lady caught them and yelled at them. She gave them the whole speech on how this is important for students and you don't eat, you are going to be hungry all the time, and you are going to beg people for a piece of food. I hate this because this is so annoying. They say the same thing over and over again. If I had a penny for how many times they asked me what I'll have for dinner, I'd be rich!! Like how am I supposed to know that? I just started eating my mozzarella stick. Give us a break!!!

Mozzarella #3: Ok, so I know I said before that they were all big, but THIS was big. There were many materials on it, and they gave us a small amount of time to finish it. On top of that, we had to eat that disgusting, wretched blob of vegetables. Apparently, according to the lunch ladies, it's essential to eat it, and it's going to help you during your dinner.

I almost threw away this material. My body was hurting, and my mind was disorganized and stressed out. I cried because it was too much. I was mad that the lunch lady expected us to finish all this in a short amount of time. AND FOR WHAT?!? So parents can see you did food and give you a good dinner. I just can't anymore. I almost gave up until my friends gave me reinforcement. After I was finished, my friends told me that the next one would be a lot easier.

I'm looking forward to that.

Mozzarella #4: This was the most excellent mozzarella stick I ever had. Even better than the first one. The lunch ladies gave us a small amount since they sat how much we ate. Some people got mozzarella-itis. They got lazy and procrastinated on eating it. I kind of got it and didn't care since all the hard work was counted in the first 3. This last one was a piece of cake. (they also gave us a piece of cake). Savored the last and bite and thought about this lunch period and the four sticks I ate. I thank all the lunch lady and friends that helped through the way.

If you don't feel like you can finish your mozzarella stick, don't give up fight hard. Ask for help. Everything will be alright.

The bell rang, and lunchtime was over. Time to go to college and eat excellent stuff : )

I've been at this college thing for almost three and a half years, and while I thought that high school was truly the lowest point of my existence, I'm beginning to realize that it was a walk in the park. Like, I miss the days when the biggest white lie I told my parents was my made up excuse about being late for fourth period. These days, the white lies are a tad more complex, and as ashamed as I am to admit it, I've definitely told a few of these.

As most of us already know, Friends is one of the greatest television series ever produced. The cast is genius. The humor never gets old. The episodes are relatable and timeless.

The infamous RBF is something I have and am known for. It’s kind of exhausting to be asked if you're okay all the time or being told to smile more. Girls with RBF get judged to be mean and rude much quicker than the girl who is always smiling. It’s true and just plain natural for someone who is generally smiling all the time to come off as more trustworthy and I've gotten used to it. I used to think that having a Resting Bitch Face was only a bad thing until I realized that just like anything else, it also has its perks. Having a permafrown with a piercing look comes with great power.

We all know that Parks and Recreation is one of the greatest shows ever to air on TV. As we watched every episode, we all found a piece of us in each character (even Jerry). From the moment we met the pit, to the time we saw it flourish into a beautiful park, we all had developed a little bit of Pawnee, Indiana in our hearts.
