Let's face it when we hear the word foodour mouths start to water. Brunch food has to be my favorite kind of food because its a mixture of breakfast and lunch and there are way more choices than you think. Some may be hiding in plain sight here in town!

1. Metro Diner

The classic diner that is a must, especially if you are desperately looking for something to eat in a hurry. Chicken and waffles, need I say more? Be prepared to wait for a little to be seated, but the atmosphere is very Southern and homey.

2. Side by Side

Ah, the one restaurant that everyone makes reservations at for when their parents come to visit. Well, don't forget that there is more to this place other than their chicken and potatoes. Check out their brunch and drink specials on Sundays!

3. Holler and Dash

Located on the Strip in town with a variety of biscuits and eggs to choose from. More known to be a quick bite to eat, but I guarantee everything on the menu is amazing.

4. UPerk

Recently opened downtown and best known for their coffee and quiet areas for students to study at any hour of the day!

5. Heritage House

With two locations Heritage House is becoming a big hit here in Tuscaloosa. Perfect locations where there is outdoor seating to bring your pets and a huge variety of breakfast pastries and sandwiches to choose from.

6. Another Broken Egg

The line is worth it! Overlooking the Riverwalk on a beautiful day and enjoying their healthy options such as granola or even treating yourself to their cinnamon roll pancakes leaves everyone's mouths watering.

7. Rama Jama's

If you have not been the Rama Jama's then you are missing out. Located next to Bryant Denny Stadium perfect for a pre-game day meal or even a quick bite to eat while running around town. I highly recommend their French toast!

8. Waysider

Cozy environment, hidden to most who have been here for some time. Definitely worth the investigating their food fills me up for almost the whole day!

9. Five Bar

One of the newer restaurants here in town, but their food never disappoints. Most people think that it is more of a dinner place, but they have great deals on the weekends for brunches as well.

10. T-Town Cafe

Another advantage of being in the South is the hospitality and home cooked meals made with TLC. They stuff their omelets so the cheese oozes out! Be sure to head over early on Sunday's so you beat the crowd.

11. O'Henry's Coffee

Quick bite to eat and hands down the best scones in town. Also another great place to get some work done while sipping on some coffee.

12. Cracker Barrel

You're probably thinking why is the typical rest stop restaurant on this list. Cracker Barrel is underrated and their portions are perfect to share with family and friends. Ps: ask for your potatoes well done!

13. Edelweiss Coffee Shop and Bakery

One look at their pastries and you will be drooling by the time you order. The aroma of bread and coffee fills the place. You will definitely see students at all hours of the day.

14. Sweet Home Food Bar

The classic southern looking restaurant where you can choose from biscuits and gravy to a yogurt parfait to start your day. Also, they make their orange juice fresh in the kitchen!

15. 301 Bistro

More of an upscale brunch place and a newer restaurant in town. The presentation of each meal is definitely picture-worthy!

16. Avenue Pub

The restaurant that is known for their burgers and french fries expanded their menu and cater to brunch on the weekends. The warm biscuits that come with almost every item off the menu are the highlight of the meal!

17. Steamers

Sure, they have great drinks and crawfish to munch on any day of the week, but you have to give them credit for their brunch food. I mean look at the location and then think about spending your morning or afternoon outside sipping on some juice and people watching while eating your fluffy pancakes!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
