In honor of Supergirl's and The Flash’s upcoming musical crossover, I decided to compile a list of 20 different actors and actresses from the CW’s Arrowverse, from the worst singers to the best. Keep in mind, as you read and listen, that this is only my personal opinion. Also, unfortunately, not all of these characters will be in the crossover, no matter how much I wish it was so.
20. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker)
In the episode “Crazy For You”, Caitlin sings half of “Summer Nights” with Barry in a karaoke bar. But since her character was supposed to be drunk at the time, it didn’t seem like the best showcase of her abilities. This short clip of Danielle Panabaker singing along to the radio (from an R-rated flop) seemed like a better example of her singing voice.
19. Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh)
Franz has a pretty decent voice, though this was the only clip I could find of it.
18. Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh)
I have never seen Grey’s Anatomy. This clip, while interesting, isn’t quite enough to get me to watch it.
17. Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman)
John Barrowman’s voice is all right, but I’m a bigger fan of his piano playing (and narration) in “The Ballad of Russell and Julie”.
16. Mon-El (Chris Wood)
Pretty good voice, though I’m definitely questioning how much alcohol he’s had.
15. Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards)
I personally like this version of “Summer Nights” more than Barry and Caitlin’s, even if Colton and Emily can’t remember all the lyrics.
14. Harrison Wells, Harry Wells, Eobard Thawne, & HR Wells (Tom Cavanagh)
One Tumblr user suggested (http://comicdilfs.tumblr.com/post/151667921235/pol...) that all of Tom’s characters should sing in a barbershop quartet. I would pay big money to see that.
13. Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist)
The Girl of Steel's got a good voice, but I think some of the other heroes outrank her.
12. Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett)
Unfortunately, Rick’s only in the background for this number, but he’s still got a pretty good voice for harmonies.
11. Barry Allen (Grant Gustin)
Sometimes I just laugh at how different Barry and Sebastian Smythe are (along with the fact that somewhere, on an another earth, his doppelgänger and Kara’s are in rival glee clubs).
10. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell)
While Stephen Amell has made it clear that he has no desire to be in an Arrow musical episode, he has quite a pleasing voice.
9. Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes)
Fun fact: Both Carlos Valdes and Arthur Darvill have sung in different productions of the stage musical Once. They're both pretty dynamite singers.
8. Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill)
Arthur has also sung a hilarious parody of “Let It Go” where he begs people to stop thinking of him as merely the Doctor’s companion. This version of "Falling Slowly", however, has a bit more of a serious, gentle melody and really shows off his voice.
7. Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale)
I guess the speed force just loves good singers.
6. James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks)
If James doesn’t get to sing in the musical crossover, I’m going to be extremely disappointed. He lost the girl, the least you can do is let him sing about it.
5. Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee)
Legends of Tomorrow’s first season would’ve been so much better if Kendra sang all of her lines.
4. Martin Stein (Victor Garber)
Let’s face it, the man has a soothing voice. He could read a children’s book about a vampire rabbit and make it interesting—oh, wait, he has.
3. Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller)
My only regret is that I couldn’t find a longer clip of grown-up Wentworth singing. However, you can find clips of him singing with the Princeton Tigertones in college, but I feel like his voice has gotten much deeper since then.
2. Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan)
Winn must sing in the musical crossover. It is law.
1. Joe West (Jesse L. Martin)
No wonder this guy was a club singer on Earth-2. He’s fantastic.
