I Went Through Sorority Recruitment And I'm Still Shook, TBH

So first things first: I got in.

But that's a WHOLE other article.

Sorority recruitment week or "rush week," as it is more well known as, is an experience.

Since our recruitment week started Labor Day week, we started on Tuesday instead of Monday, which isn't too important, but yeah. Let's get into it.

The first night was orientation. Orientation was the most boring/worst part of the whole experience. You get introduced to the Rho Chis who are disenfranchised from their sororities to help out with the recruitment process and how everything works, and then you ask any questions that you have. Honestly, it kinda sucks.

Night two is cray-cray. Night two is when you meet every sorority and you scream at everyone in a room for an hour because you can't hear a word anyone says. It's also like super fun, and this is coming from an introvert. It's also the most casual night of the next three nights, so this is the night to wear shorts.

Night three is a little more specific; you dress a little fancier, you act a little quieter, and you boast a little bit more. This is the first night you can get dropped, which kinda sucks, not gonna lie.

Night four is invitation night. Invite night is the most stressful thing ever. You dress super fancy, you act super fancy, and you feel like you're being inducted into a cult. (You aren't btw.) Going to see if you got an invitation is probably the most stressful part of it all. I didn't realize I was holding in a breath until I got my invitation.

The most fun part of sorority recruitment is Bid Day, but as I previously stated, THAT'S A WHOLE OTHER ARTICLE.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
