To The woman I Look Up To Most

Dear Mom:

To The woman I Look Up To Most

This year has brought more appreciation on my family than any other. While college comes with new friends, crazy amounts of homework, and new clubs to join, it also brings out a whole new level of independence and responsibility. I found myself having to take care of both myself and my friends, and thanking my mom everyday for allowing me to blossom into the young woman I am today. So, Mom, this one’s for you.

Dear Mom,

Thank you. I don’t think I say that to you enough, as much as you deserve it. Thank you for always being there to support me, take care of me, make me laugh; for listening to me ramble on about school, and for helping me study by letting me FaceTime with you while you fall asleep and I tell you all about what I have written in an exam study guide. Thank you for always being my shoulder to cry on or the one to embrace me in a hug because you’re proud. Thank you for always bringing out the best in me. Your encouragement and support keeps me together even when we’re apart.

I am beyond grateful to have a mother that I can also call my best friend. I am so proud to have seen you grow and become such an empowering woman. I may have only noticed it for a few years compared to your twenty, but I still notice. You bring light to every room you stand in. I hope to someday be as incredible as you. It’s taken me far too long to learn to reflect and to be thankful to those who molded me into who I am today, and for that I am sorry, but here’s to many more years of mother-daughter bonding.

There is no greater bond than that of mother and daughter. You are my best friend. I love you to the moon and back, Mom. You taught me well. I certainly would not be where I am without you. You are an inspiration. You are my hero. I still have so much to learn from you, but I think I’m off to a good start. As you always say, the soul of the child chooses the parents. And I can say with absolute certainty, that I chose the right ones.

All My Love,

Your daughter

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
