To Mothers

Mothers are a blessing sent from God.

Moms. They are a really special kind of person. They nurture you from the time you were in their bellies until their last day. A mother's love is truly the most rewarding thing a person could have. For those who have lost their mother, never met their mother, or simply refuse to communicate with them, you still have that love. Though everyone's situation is different, you should always love your mother whether or not she is your biological mom.

Mothers are there through thick and thin. They do not receive the credit for half of the things they do for our ungrateful attitudes. Growing up, the majority of us despised being told no, that we could not do this or that. But as we get older we should be thanking them for being protective as they probably saved us from so much trouble. Our mothers (and fathers) are the main reasons why we are who we are and where we are in our lives today.

Advice. I cannot speak for everyone, but my mom has given me the BEST advice. For whatever situation, I could always count on my mom being there for me and helping me through it. For example: break ups. Everyone goes through them. My mom was my rock through my very first real break up, and I could not be more grateful to have had her shoulder to cry on. If you think your mom's advice wouldn't work, you're lying to yourself because ten times out of ten, your mother has been through it. She is so wise; listen to her and take the advice she provides you with because some people aren't blessed with it.

Mothers do everything. Work, clean, cook dinner, help with homework, etc. They do it all. It's like they have some unnatural super power to be really good multi-taskers. I'm not sure if it's because they had to learn how to do it or if it just comes naturally after having children. But I give them props because I have my own apartment, am a full-time student, was working, and I know there are days that I did NOT want to spend my extra time cleaning my apartment. Though they cannot do absolutely everything themselves, giving their children chores will help them in the long run.

I think of my mom as a very strong-willed woman. She overcame so much to provide my siblings and me with the best life possible. I never have a doubt in my mind that she will always be there to support me, no matter how crazy my ambitions get. She deserves the world and more. She gave up so much for all her kids and now that I am older, I have a new respect for everything she has done. Yes, she can get a bit scary when she is mad but, honestly, who isn't? I find myself being more and more like my mother, and I pray to God that I will be half the mother she was to me. I love you momma and thank you for being you.

Thank your mother for all she does for you. Love her endlessly and NEVER take her for granted because life is too short.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
