As I try to power through another unfortunate all-nighter in the library, I cannot help but procrastinate and explore Pinterest. Needing a little motivation, I begin by searching “inspiration quotes for college kids." First result was a picture of a desk full of books with “STOP PROCRASTINATING" stamped on top, front and center in bold white letters. No, not what I needed. Finally after some mindless scrolling I came across the Gandhi below.
“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning." Mahatma Gandhi.
I am sure majority of you readers have read or heard this quote before, but you cannot deny its truthfulness. If you repeatedly tell yourself you cannot do something then you are only making it harder on yourself. I think as college students we do this a lot more than we should.
There is a lot of pressure on us students to look, act and preform a certain way, but who puts this pressure on us? It can come from our parents, bosses or friends but I think the most ruthless contenders are ourselves. Not only do we put pressure on ourselves, we add to it with negative thinking.
We need to listen Gandhi and embrace the power of positive thinking. We are capable of more than we know and with the semester coming to a close we need all the help we can get!
You're welcome for the inspiration,

P.S. I just shattered my laptop screen but, hey, maybe if I repeatedly think there is a chance Apple will fix it for free then Apple will fix it for free?
