Here's The Skinny On Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is a beastly thing.

It takes immense patience, great content and a fantastic strategy to make it work. Here are a few tips on how to promote yourself, business or product through social media:

1. Twitter

For Twitter, follow influencers within the industry you want to be in most. Engage with their tweets. Use hashtags. Share your own expertise within Twitter parties. Whatever you do, don't oversell yourself. You're building a relationship, not a closing a sale.

2. Facebook

Facebook changes a lot, but doing some research on your audience and posting informative content within their interests that's also relevant to your business/service/product is a good start. Placing an advertisement on Facebook is relatively simple. Focusing that advertisement on the feeds of certain demographics, areas or interests makes it easy to reach a lot of people on a small budget.

3. Instagram

Instagram is about consistency and quality. And a lot of hashtags. Find a schedule that works with you for posting pictures to Instagram and stick to it. Focus on quality photos or videos with relevant and possibly trending hashtags. This will ensure a base for acquiring loyal followers.

4. Your Website

If you have a website, it's important that every social media account has a Call-To-Action to check out your website. Otherwise, there won't be any traffic going to buy your product or service.

Content creation

Content creation means utilizing the best tools within your budget to publish online. Some tools include:

1. www.canva.com

Canva is a free online design program that allows you to create stunning social media posts, infographics, advertisements and an assortment of other things. It's easy to use and has a 'team' feature where multiple people have access to the same projects.

2. www.unsplash.com

Unsplash is a website where amazing photographers post their photos to be used by anyone for anything. No copyright infringement thanks to the creative commons registration.

So when you are creating these beautiful designs in Canva but need an equally beautiful photo, go to Unsplash.

Awesome content means effective social media marketing.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
