There are those very special people that come into your life, that you know for a fact will remain loyal for years to come. Once you've reached college you start to really know who your true friends are and weed out the bad ones. This is a time in life where you've made a whole new group of friends but still have those few childhood friends. My best friend and I have been friends for 15 years. Here are some of the reasons we've stayed friends so long...

1. We are ALWAYS honest with each other.

Whether it comes down to an opinion on an outfit or something more serious we always keep it real with each other. A friendship isn't a friendship without making mistakes with each other and learning from them.

2. Our friendship is full of laughter.

We haven't gone one day in our friendship without laughing. Nothing is better than having those moments when you laugh so hard with your best friend that you pretty much grow abs.

3. We bring out the best in each other.

We make one another a better person. You learn and grow from having this person as your best friend. This person helps you blossom to the best human you can be.

4. We both know each other better than we know ourselves.

Your best friend is always one step ahead of you. Most of the time they know what's wrong before you even tell them and are more aware of what's going on in your life than you are.

5. We always know the right things to say to each other.

Whether we're hanging out or trying to handle a situation, we've learned how one another operates. We always know the right things to say, in order to not offend or totally annoy each other. Normally, it involves a ridiculous comment to make the other person laugh.

6. We can sit next to each other not talking comfortably and still enjoy the others company.

We always catch ourselves sitting there with like a 10 minute span that just went by and we haven't said a word. This is how you know it's true friendship, when you can sit with them by your side and enjoy their company.

7. There's never a dull moment in our friendship.

From crazy nights out to endless adventures together, we always have fun. There's never been a moment where we haven't done something to laugh at ourselves for.

8. We know what it means to compromise and get over silly things that make us mad.

Every friendship is going to have its ups and downs, but it's so important to let things go and forgive. Normally we make a joke at each other when we're pissed, laugh and move on.

9. Whenever something is wrong, they are the one person that knows exactly what to say in order to make you feel better.

Whenever I'm having a mental breakdown, I know exactly who to go to. This person never fails to make me feel better.

10. We avoid drama at all costs.

Drama sucks and we avoid stupid confrontations. It helps being laid-back and easy going people.

11. We are an open book with each other.

We know every detail about each other. We tell each other everything and don't keep secrets from one another. I'd be totally lost without my best friend.

12. We can joke about having a model friendship.

We cherish our friendship so dearly that we like to think we're even a model friendship and people should take after us. We're going 15 years strong and have many more years to come. Here's to you best friend!

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
