If you’re anything like me, you hear the term celebrity and you groan ever so slightly. Everyone thinks they just have the easiest lives. In a way this is true, but it’s not always as glamorous as they make it out to be. Even Justin Bieber has claimed to feel like a caged animal at times. This being said, here are 10 reasons why being a celebrity really isn’t that great.
1. Zero privacy.
Think about it. How many magazines do you see on shelves with the title “A look at a (insert famous person) million dollar mansion”? They can’t even go somewhere as simple as Target or the gym without being photographed.

2. Diet.
Well, now that celebrities have zero privacy, they better not get caught eating a doughnut or Taco Bell. No, not if they want to keep in shape and show the public they are perfect all the time; they better be eating those greens. As a society we put them under so much pressure to always look in shape. Other wise we post articles like “You’ll never believe how much weight (celebrity) has put on.” We essentially shame them into eating healthy and scold them when they don’t.
3.Time.
Staying up until 3 a.m. only to wake up at 6? Better get used to it. Between filming movies, recording music, going on tour or even doing interviews, celebrities have no time in the day and are stuck with grueling work schedules
4.Family.
Not only do they have to deal with the constant spotlight, but if they’ve got family, you better believe they share the light. This might be cool for a bit, but after a while you would just want it to all go away. Why would anyone want to subject themselves to that, let alone their kids?
5. Perfection.
As a celebrity, any small mistake you do gets splashed all over tabloids. A small parking ticket? More like “Celebrity gets massive fine.”
6. Social media.
Over a million followers? How cool. This also means over a million people to constantly judge every single thing you post. You can basically ignore that delete button, because before you even push it someone’s already screenshot what you’ve posted.
7. Trolls.
It’s bad enough that they deal with people like paparazzi or fans wherever they go, but now they have this online. It’s not just fans who message them on social media, but people who go out of their way to post something hateful about them.
8. Friends.
Finding out who your friends are and who they aren’t can be an even trickier process if you’re famous. Are you friends or are they just using you for the fame?
9. Trapped.
Or like Bieber says, feeling like a caged animal. Not only do you have zero privacy, but it’s almost impossible to go somewhere. You’ve constantly got swarms of people following you that make it almost dangerous to just go out for a meal.
10. Youth.
As a celebrity, you better have some magic serum that makes you look young forever. You’ve got Rapunzel's magic glowing hair? Great, because you’ll need it. For some reason society frowns upon aging, and this is especially true for famous people. Maybe that’s why so many of them resort to Botox?
