Dear world,
I have spent a large portion of my life waiting and dreaming about future of no more school where I get to work and feel like I have begun my life. Granted it is not that I do not enjoy school, because I do like it but I am ready to move on with my life and start in the life I've dreamed about since as far back as I can remember.
Here I am tonight writing to all those other seniors out there who are ready to start their lives too. So let me start again...
Dear Seniors,
Here we are. In our last first semester of our undergraduate degree, a time where most of us want to give up, throw in the towel and just veg out. This could also be a time where we are all hitting the ground running, sprinting towards a finish line that is not coming for a couple more laps.
I am both of those people so I understand if you are one or the other, I am here for you. We are community of people, of leaders and scholars who are about to embark on a journey no one could really prepare us for.
For those of us who are vegging out, my advice for you is to not forget that this is our last marathon run there is no sense in walking, and for those who hit the ground running and are drowning, gasping for air, do not forget that it is okay to slow down sometimes, try going out with your friends, or binge on the new Netflix series everyone is talking about.
There is a happy median and we all need to find it, it's how we prevent burning out and wanting to give up all together. Find the motivation to go to class even if that motivation is there is a cute boy in class and he "might" be there. Even if that motivation is a bubble bath with candles, tea and good book. Find your middle ground, find your happy median where you know you have to get stuff done but it can wait until the episode of Grey's Anatomy is over.
Seniors, do not forget the importance of enjoying your time left that you have in college, but also do not forget the importance of turning in all you assignments in on time and asking for help if you need it.
Sincerely,
The Girl Who Hope We All Get Job Straight Out Of College
