Trump Is President. Now What?
abcnews

Since the year 1789, we, the American people have gathered on the steps of the White House a watched as our nation elects and honors a new appointment in power. On this day, January 20th, 2017 America witnessed an important moment in our democratic system’s history, a transfer of both power and politics. Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the United States of America’s 45th president this past Friday at 12pm. As many Americans sorrowfully waved goodbye to Mr. Barack Obama and Mr. Joe Biden, others encouragingly welcomed the new POTUS with open arms.

Although the end of the Obama/Biden legacy comes to a bittersweet end, today we saw bouts of cordiality between both sides, old and new. As I am sure the question crossed many minds today, where will our country go now? Will we progress, will we plateau, or will we decline? As stated in President Trump’s speech he believes that this election has not just put him in a position of power, but has also given the power back to the people. As we know the new POTUS is no stranger to being in the spot light and speaking to people or crowds being the business man that he is, so his inaugural address was nothing less than a crowd pleaser geared toward his followers and supporters. But with this new presidential title his every move will be scrutinized by our entire nation and nations across the world. While Trump kicked off his presidency with a meagerly sparse crowd he didn’t seem to mind as he gave thumbs up, fist pumped and jeered his way into his first term.

In terms of his speech, although short and sweet, it was comprised of three main items: repetition, a multitude of promises, and few underhanded insinuations about the most recent presidency. While he thoughtfully told Americans to think big, and dream bigger, and for people to prepare themselves to put America back on the map above all else, I know that many eagerly await to see the outcomes of the talk that is Trump turn in to action. But until then all we can do is wait and keep up with the news/on goings.

For those who are afraid of what is to come in the future, remember that we are with you, you are not alone and support is never far, and to those who have no fear and are excited/eager to see what things he does next, I hope that President Trump reaffirms your belief in him with future success.

Donald is a great hype man, but now let’s see if he can be a great president.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
