Here are 10 Paramore Songs You Forgot About
Fueled by Ramen

Paramore's meaningful lyrics and heavy guitar riffs got me through middle school and early high school. Not to mention, the lead singer Hayley Williams was a great role model as a strong frontwoman. Here are 10 Paramore songs you probably forgot about.

  1. All We Know”-The king of all angsty songs. “All we know, is falling, it falls.”
  2. “Hallelujah”-A beautiful song about faith and hope. “If only time flew like a dove, would God make it fly faster than I’m falling in love?”
  3. “Let the Flames Begin”-It kind of reminds me of Hunger Games, kind of reminds me of Farenheit 451(hey, high school English class) and kind of reminds me of Christian martyrs dying for their faith. Whatever the song was about, I just knew it was hardcore and cool. “This is how we dance when they burn our houses down, this is how we’ll sing ‘oh glory.’”
  4. “Part II”-A sequel to “Let the Flames Begin” I was always convinced this song was about Hayley Williams’ faith and God rescuing her from Satan’s grasp. “Dancing on my own to the sound of an enemy’s song, I was lost until you came and found me here ‘oh glory.”
  5. “For a Pessimist, I’m Pretty Optimistic”-I know I’m not the only one who head banged to this getting ready for school in junior high. Who hasn’t been disappointed in a crush or significant other? “I put my faith in you, so much faith, and you just threw it away.”
  6. “Grow Up”-This song was from their self titled album, which came out my senior year of high school. Believe me, there were some high school friends I was more than ready to say goodbye to. “Some of us have to grow up sometimes, and so I-if I have to, I’m going to leave you behind.”
  7. “When it Rains”-Quite an emotional ballad about a friend of Hayley Williams’ who committed suicide. The song has a whole new meaning to me now that one of my high school friends who listened to Paramore with me ended your life. “But why can’t you stay just long enough to explain?”
  8. “Franklin”- A song about going home when your hometown has changed since you were last there. “Going back to get away after everything has changed.”
  9. “Brick by Boring Brick”-Total disclosure: this is one of my lifetime favorite songs. I love how it describes how easy it is to escape your problems in a romantic fantasy.
“If it's not real, You can't hold it in your hand, You can't feel it with your heart, And I won't believe it, But if it's true, You can see it with your eyes, Even in the dark. And that’s where I want to be, yeah.”
  10. “My Heart”- Whether the song was about God, a boyfriend, a friend or family member, it was about true devotion. “This heart, it beats, beats for only you, my heart is yours.”

What were some of your favorite songs in junior high?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
