Little reminders of God's great love.

When Only The Bible Can Help
Answering Genesis

Too often in life, we as humans must confront emotions that we see as unfair. Emotions that make us feel like we're hard to love and in situations like this I like to remind myself that no matter how unloved I can feel at any given moment I am loved more greatly by the maker of the universe than I will ever be able to know. Throughout the Bible we are often reminded that no matter how rough our path is we never have to walk it alone, and that we can find light in a dark world if we choose to believe in the love that can overcome everything else.

Look here when you are feeling:

Insecure

1. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

2. But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

3. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)

4. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. (Psalm 73:23)

5. As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. (Ephesians 2:1-2)

Alone

1. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

2. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

3. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

Stressed

1. Stand firm, and you will win life. (Luke 21:19)

2. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. (Psalm 94:19)

3. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

4. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. (James 1:2-3)

5. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

6. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (Proverbs 16:3)

7. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)

8. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27)

9. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

10. Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight. (Psalm 119:143)

Brokenhearted

1. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:26)

2. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17)

3. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3)

Confused

1. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people. (1 Corinthians 14:33)

2. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. (2 Timothy 2:7)

3. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)

4. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
