Look, it has been awhile. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about. Sometimes we go through lulls where the only boys we talk to are the pizza delivery men coming to our apartments every Friday night. It happens. Here are some things you can do when you're not doing the dirty. (I can't stop with the sexual puns, please help.)

1. Run, run, run.

I actually thought of writing this article when I was on a long run the other day. I know running isn't for everyone, but just give it a try. Exercising, in general, is a great way to get endorphins (that you're not getting elsewhere) and you can prepare for spring break while doing it! For me, the exercise part isn't even the main reason why I run. It's the mental aspect of it. An hour or so of uninterrupted thought, almost like streaming meditation. I am currently training for a half marathon, so that can give you a little insight on how much it helps.

2. Take a long, hot shower.

People underestimate the things a long shower can do for you. There's something about having that alone time where you can just regroup from the day or prep for the day ahead. Honestly, some of my best thoughts come from when I am in the shower, just thinking about everything going on in my life. Put on some music and you have a sing-a-long party of one. And then when you get out, there's no better feeling like putting on a big, warm robe, brushing your hair, slathering on moisturizer and snuggling up in bed. Honestly, I'm getting a little horny just thinking about it.

3. Treat yourself to a spa day.

There is no better feeling than putting on a face mask and feeling like you could conquer life's grievances after. Do something for you; something to make you feel good about yourself. For me, this involves getting a mani/pedi, spray tanning, getting my hair done and my eyebrows waxed (hello, Myra at Anastasia). If there is something specific that you do to make yourself feel beautiful, do it! Spoil yourself, girl! (Honestly, I feel like half this stuff makes me feel better than any guy could, but that's a discussion for a different article.)

4. Catch some ZZZZZZs

Honestly, if you have time, why not? Sometimes all you need is a little cat nap. You will wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to seize the day. Make sure you don't take too long of a nap though, because we all know those are the ones that leave you waking up not knowing what year it is.

5. Get some retail therapy.

Ok, hear me out on this. A lot of times shopping has the opposite effect on me: I get stressed out and overstimulated once I try on more than three items of clothing. However, there is a place that always leaves me feeling better than when I walk in. And this place, ladies and gentlemen, is called Sephora. There is something about walking in there that instantly boosts the serotonin levels in my brain. My body knows I'm in a safe space. I am always greeted by beautiful people who want to help me and are just happy to be there.

I could get lost in the aisles forever. It's like at the casinos when they keep the lights really bright or something so you have no idea what time it is, that's what it's like when I go to Sephora. And I swear, they pump some type of scent through the vents that makes you happy like they do at Disney World. I walk out with a hell of a lot less money than when I walked in, but I also walk out a hell of a lot more beautiful, so I'll make that trade.

6. Watch some trashy TV.

This is one of my favorite pastimes when I don't want to think about anything else going on in my life. Whether it's RHWONJ or Floribama Shore, watching trashy reality TV always makes me laugh and helps me forget about whatever sh*t is going on in my life. I mean, it could be worse, right?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
