How can these pixels of the earth be so breathtakingly perfect? I can’t help but wonder where it all started. Waves of grass infuse my vision and flood my heart. Wet smiles flourish throughout the atmosphere. Intoxicating every soul that may encounter such wonder. Contagious reassurance leaps within those that are familiar. Dry weeds sway against the sigh of the mid-west. The innocent blue color peeks through the shadowed clouds. The sound of the morning rain fills my head with a satisfying drone of silence. It’s soft and gentle. The picture doesn’t seem to move much based on the pace of the moving universe. It remains still with the smell of winter creeping in and the taste of Christmas tingling in my breath. The freshly combed grass shakes with the wind. Giving way of this timeless landscape. How could one continue through life so abruptly with the knowledge of such being?
One the main things us humans typically struggle with is the fact that we forget how beautiful our earth is. We forget to look around. We forget to take in all the amazing details that God took time to illustrate. Because the holiday season is going on, it's time to reset our hearts and minds. It's time to turn our vision in the correct direction. I don't know about you, but this is ultimately my favorite time of the year. I can't help but be happy all the time! (After finals are over of course.) Which brings me to my second point.
Christmas coming up is exciting and all, but for us college students that means exams on top of projects on top of papers. Yay!... This definitely does not sound like any fun, however we can still take a little bit of time out of our day to acknowledge all that we have been given. This is just the start of making things better. My other article I wrote earlier talked about Love vs. Hate and how we can love more often. Now, let's take the next step even further. So, let's do our best and begin to take some more time out of each day to enjoy more, give more, and on top of it all, simply breathe more.
