I skipped my first class this week and I couldn't get out of bed until 1 pm.
Getting up early in the morning usually isn't difficult for me, but lately, it has been challenging.
The other night I couldn't sleep well with all my thoughts bundled in my head. I took out a notebook and slowly wrote down goals I wanted to accomplish the next day or things that I haven't done in awhile, but wanted to do.
I know I'm not the only person feeling a little unmotivated and uninspired after the cold weather kicked in. Here are some things you can do when you're feeling down, even when the sun is shining.
No matter who you are, waking up early is a sign of productivity. Wake up, even an hour early, and make yourself breakfast or go for a quick walk before class. Fresh air and the sun really does something for you and it's a refreshing way to start off your day. If you don't eat breakfast, drink a glass full of water before you do anything else; Rehydrate your body!
When I feel myself getting antsy, even if I haven't done anything all day... see, that's probably why I feel like I need to do something. Clean your room while listening to your fall playlist if you don't want to go outside; it's productive and gets your mind off everything for awhile. To rearrange your thoughts, write them down on paper to feel calm and organized.
Night time is especially the time to feel down, this is when you should cut off caffeine, light a candle, change into comfortable clothes and have some time to yourself before going to sleep. I've realized that I will be all over the place while trying to sleep at night because I know I'm just going to wake up and do the same thing all over.
I hope with a few things I've mentioned, you feel calm throughout the day and remember it is so important to put yourself first and to be aware of your body and mind at all times. Surround yourself with people who love you and friends you can always count on.
