For many months, bloggers and Internet sensations have raved about the food delivery service "Hello Fresh." When a coupon came in the mail, I knew I had to try it out.
Before we begin, my views are my own and I am not affiliated with Hello Fresh. I used this in late February, as a reference date.
For those that don't know, Hello Fresh is a meal delivery service that ships meals right to your door. There is a variety of different plans including a Vegetarian Box, Regular Box, and Family Size. You can choose between $7.49 a serving to $9.99 a serving plus $7 to $8 of shipping. As a college student, it is a lot for a weekly plan but for those who value fresh ingredients and convenience, then this could be good for you.
Personally, I would reserve Hello Fresh as a treat for weeks I'm busy or want to try out new recipes. I love the variety of options — anyone could be happy and choose something they love. The recipes are easy to follow and have pictures so you know what your food should look like. I wish there was a way to customize what sides you get since I got sweet potatoes and I am not a fan of them. The cooking process was fun and my boyfriend even got in on the action. It was so nice to get to cook and do something I love.
The southwest chicken and mashed potatoes with onions were amazing. I wish there were recipes that used simpler cooking materials because you have little cooking tools in college and making the mashed potatoes were difficult, but if I had a masher it would be simpler. The balsamic meatloaf was delicious and the food was truly amazing. The food is delicious and I love how they come in the right portions. They give you exactly what you need and nothing less. Overall, Hello Fresh is a really good service and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new food subscription service.
