Hello Aveeno

It's not that we haven't met before, I just never knew how much I needed you until now.

Dear Aveeno,

As you may already be aware, Bath and Body Works and I have gone separate ways. After years with them, it seems like I just can not help but get irritated every time we come into contact with one another.

You have always done right by me and although we have been passing friends, now is the time for our relationship to flourish. I have made the full switch in regards to skincare. My lotions, body wash, and moisturizer are all from your extensive line of dermatologist approved products.

I know I can trust you to have my back seeing as you have never let me down before.

The sense of soothing relief you provide my sensitive skin is more than I could ever ask for. The all natural ingredients and the formulas lacking in heavy scents are all I wanted and more. Thank you, Aveeno, for giving me what my skin needs.

In all seriousness, making the switch to Aveeno has helped my skin get healthy again. Its still a work in progress but, the red irritations which were driving me up the walls are starting to finally go away. Unfortunately, in cold weather, our skin does not always get the nutrients, minerals, and hydration needed. That is why a lot of passive skin conditions activate when the weather gets cold or windy. The popularity of the hot shower in the winter months does not help either seeing as bathing in hot water also strips your skin and hair of necessary minerals, oils, and nutrients as well.

Having brands that prioritize skin in distress or sensitive skin is extremely important because without them the selection of products would be infinitely smaller. Just as fragrance first brands have a unique marketing niche, so do sensitive skin brands and what you buy reflects your priorities or your skin's needs. My priority is being comfortable in my skin which means avoiding irritants that cause red patches of eczema to flare up, so it looks like Aveeno and I are in it for the long haul.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
