Ever have one of those days where you feel completely overwhelmed, too stressed out, and maybe a little depressed? Maybe you're having one of those days today. It happens to the best of us, and life can get hard at times. I'm here to tell you that it's going to be okay though. Life has its ups and downs, and sometimes they feel more like mountains and valleys.
When I'm having a particularly bad day I have a few things I like to do to make me feel better, and a few quotes/scripture verses I like to read. They help me make it through the day and feel better about myself.
Here's a few of my favorites:
1. Exercise
This is the first thing I like to try to make myself feel better. It doesn't have to be super strenuous, but just getting up and doing something different helps.
2. Music
I like to listen to a bunch of music that pumps me up. A few of my favorites include: Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles, Brave by Sara Bareilles, Electric Love by Borns, and On My Mind by Ellie Goulding.
3. Scripture
Even the strongest of us have moments when the burdens of life seem too great it's then that the Lord whispers to our hearts.......
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
-Matthew 11:28
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"
-Psalm 34:18
"Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
-Isaiah 41:10
"You may have peace in this world, but you will also have trouble, but take heart. I have overcome the world."
-John 16:33
"For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."
-Micah 7:8
4. Positive Quotes
This is one of my favorites.
"The sun is perfect, and you woke up this morning. You have enough language in your mouth to be understood. You have a name, and someone wants to call it. Five fingers on your hand, and someone wants to hold it. If we just start there, every beautiful thing that has and will ever exist is possible. If we start there, everything, for a moment is right in the world." -Warsan Shire
5. Find Someone You Can Confide In
Find someone you can talk to. Let them know how you're feeling. You never know, they might say just what you need to hear.
Just remember that it's okay to have bad days. Everyone has them from time to time. You don't need to be embarrassed about it, and don't be afraid to ask for help when it's needed.
