This past week, a group of service dogs came to our campus as part of a program for the SDSU Counseling and Psychological Services. Needless to say, it was the best day of this entire semester. Service Dog Day = I Will Cry Day.
The point is, even though the semester has just started and my classes haven’t been too difficult (so far), seeing the dogs was a huge relief. The 30 minutes that I spent with them brought so much happiness to me, and I realized that experiencing small things like this can really bring a smile to my face and put me in a good mood for the remainder of the day.
With that being said, I’ve compiled a list of videos that I hope will bring a smile to all you animal lovers. :)
If you haven’t heard of The Dodo, go ahead and watch every single one of their videos on Youtube. Granted, they’ve got about 4,000 so far, and they upload almost daily… but still. It’s worth it. However, I’ve decided to provide a few of my favorite ones!
1. A Dog Pretends to Play Dead to Avoid Leaving the Park
I mean, can this title get any cuter?
2. Dying Chimp Says Goodbye to Old Friend
This video almost brought tears to my eyes. Granted, it’s not something you should watch if you want to solely feel happy, but it’s definitely heartwarming (in a very sad way).
3. THE CUTEST SERVICE DOG EVER
My “favorite” breed of dog is a golden retriever and if you combine that with a service dog, OH MY GOSH. So cute. I cry.
4. The Most Clingy and Adorable Bulldog
I’ve never understood the stereotype that bulldogs are naturally aggressive or dangerous. There is no such thing as a naturally aggressive dog. Dogs are a replication of their owners, and if they are mistreated, it may or may not reflect in their actions.
BUT THE POINT is that this video is absolutely adorable.
5. Dogs Reactions to Being Adopted/Rescued
This video is eight minutes long. I wish it was 20… at least. It is one of the most heartwarming and beautiful videos in the world.
6. Dogs Reactions to Being Adopted/Rescued pt. 2
7. Dogs and Prisoners Change Each Others Lives
The program that you see in the video in something that I wish was implemented in more prisons. Both the dogs and the prisoners benefit from this program, and this is essentially a second chance opportunity for both.
8. Tiny Dog With an Enormous Toy
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about tiny puppies and large beds/toys/etc. that really pulls at my heartstrings.
I hope these videos have managed to put a smile on your face, whether you're an animal lover or not!
