Ah the '90s — what a great time to be alive. Well for most of us, we were pretty new to this world during the '90s. Looking back on pictures and listening to stories we hear, it was pretty great. Who could not love a time when scrunchies were all the craze? Here are five things from the 90’s that will always live in our hearts.

1. VHS Tapes

VHS tapes were the best thing back in the day. It seemed like everything under the sun was on the VHS tape. Being sick meant you got to watch endless movies and your only worry was having to get out of bed to change the tapes. It is crazy to think that the last VCR was made last week.

2. Tamagotchi

Tamagotchis were the best and worst pets to have as a kid. You got the chance to learn how to take care of something without really killing it. But keeping those things a live was probably one of the hardest thing ever. It was the worse when they died, but then you could always start again and the sadness was traded in for happiness and determination to keep this one alive.

3. Kid Pix

Kid Pix was the best part of going to computer class. You got to be an artist while being a tech savvy elementary student. It was always the best to get down with your assignment and have enough time to get on kid pix. The candy and money stamp was always the best to fill up your page with.

4. Smelly Markers

No other marker compared to these markers. The flavors were spot on and it made any poster that much better. Everyone always wanted to use these at the coloring station. Hopefully these markers are still around because if not that is true tragedy.

5. AIM

AIM was the hottest thing during the '90s. Everyone remembers their AIM name from back in the day. AIM was the way to communicate with anyone before you got your first phone. You could chat with your bestie while also doing your homework. If someone was annoying, you; you easily just hop offline and that would be the end of that.

The '90s were great, and there was so many great things from the '90s. Thank goodness we all came to our senses and started bring back some of the true goods back to the 21st century.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
