5 Healthy Snacks To Try This Summer

School's out! Aside from binge-watching Netflix, I'm sure food is on everyone's radar for the summer. After checking out multiple restaurants in Columbus these past few months, I've decided to fill my summer break with healthy foods to try and make up for the past semester. One thing I normally do a lot is snack, and like many people, I don't always make the healthiest choices. Popcorn, candy, and chips are the go-to's because they are all so easy to grab if you're not mindful about what you're eating. Fear not, though. There are also healthy snack choices you can start filling your pantry and fridge with:

1. Healthy popcorn

Who doesn't love popcorn that's both delicious and healthy?

2. Licorice

For those of you who love licorice, try Darrell Lea's licorice!

3. Summer pops

What's better than a nice, cold popsicle? Try this fruit popsicle recipe here: https://paleoleap.com/fresh-fruit-pops/

4. Veggie platter

Instead of your go-to chips and dip, switch things up and grab some healthier options instead! Swap chips for bell peppers, carrots, and cucumbers; they go great with your favorite dip!

5. Fruity water

Why drink plain water when you can get extra nutrients from yummy fruits?

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.

The dynamics of any friend group are usually determined by the personalities which make it up. Chances are, while personalities may overlap, each person in your friend group holds his or her own place. It is the differences which bring the groups together and keep them functioning. No matter how functionally dysfunctional your friend group may be, if you're anything like me, you feel absolutely blessed to have found such a wonderful group of humans to call "your people." Here is what your friend group might look like if they were Disney princesses (and that wasn't just a thing you all pretended in your heads):
