This is not the first time I have written about a healthy lifestyle. I am the kind of person that if I leave a diet for a second, I can gain weight. For that reason, I have to be careful about the sort of food I eat. Being forever on a diet is not easy, but it taught me how to start a healthy life.

One of the first things I learned is we do not need to suffer because we want to be or stay thin. Dieting is not only eating lettuce, salad, tuna or parsley. You can eat delicious food and be happy.

If you choose some of these options you will see the difference in a short period of time.

1. No more sugar.

Sugar is a vice. I believe that in three hundred years, the new generations will not understand why we eat so much sugar. Sugar is delicious, but it is also a kind of poison. The first decision I made about sugar was to stop eating it. For example, I drink tea and coffee with no sugar at all. I understand it is hard. Do not get in the mistake of thinking that honey, coconut sugar or agave are healthy enough. They are good, but they have many calories; they are not going to help you to lose weight.

There is a good option: stevia. Be careful about the stevia you buy. You will find some stevia where the principal ingredient is not stevia; then, it tastes like a nightmare. You must check that the first ingredient is stevia. It will be expensive, but it tastes terrific.

2. Grain pasta.

Pasta is the best. You can eat it with any sauce, meat, and vegetable. Pasta can make your life delicious, but regular pasta is only carbohydrates. I have the best option: grain pasta. Somebody, who is a genius, gave to the world lentil and chickpea pasta.

It is the best option. It tastes similar to pasta and it is full of protein. Also, making grain pasta is faster than the regular one. It is more expensive than regular pasta, but it is affordable.

3.    Less meat.

I like meat as much as you do. The problem is meat does not help to diet. I am not saying you need to become a vegan. The idea is to reduce the amount of meat in your life. Last year, I stopped eating meat for a couple of months; it was terrific. I lost weight with no effort at all. Of course, you must be careful about the number of proteins you are eating; it does not exchange meat for lettuce.

4.    Protein bars.

When my body asks me for a cookie in the middle of the night, I eat a protein bar. I know the best option is not to eat, but the anxiety is stronger than my capacity to say no. Most of the protein bars do not have sugar, and they have protein (as their name said). Today, we can find protein cookies and chips. They do not taste like a good cookie, but they help a lot.

5.    Diet cake.

I make a fantastic cake with no sugar, flour or butter and it tastes delicious. The secret is to replace sugar for bananas, flour for almond flour or oats, butter for coconut oil, diary for vegetal milk. I have to admit; I add some chocolate chips on it. The point is you can make a delicious and at the same time healthy dessert.

Of course, we need to exercise, to drink a lot of water, eat more vegetable, to stay calm and combine our meals with vitamins and supplements. But these ideas are a beginning.

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
