Finals are always a crazy time, and second semester the stress levels seem to get really high. Not only are you worrying about doing well on all of your tests, but there's also the daunting thought of the moving out process. Not only that, but it's allergy season and all of this stress can take a toll on the body. So here are are five tips told through Harry Potter gifs to help you stay healthy during this semester's finals.
1. Dring Water
Everyone gravitates towards guzzling caffeine during finals because they think that will give them energy, and I am just as guilty as the next person. Unfortunately, caffeinated beverages tend to dehydrate the person drinking them, and being dehydrated will make you feel sick and sluggish. Drinking water will also help your body flush out some of the stuff that will make you sick! So drink a bottle of water with your coffee.
2. Get Some Sleep
College often glorifies staying up super late to do homework (or other things), or not getting any sleep at all. Doing this will just hurt your chances of doing well for finals. It doesn't matter how late you stayed up studying if you fall asleep on the exam or you're so exhausted that you don't remember anything. Balance your study time so that you are also getting a sufficient amount of sleep.
3. Don't Forget to Eat
Don't skip meals to study! Be like Ron: Eat with a book! In fact, heading to the caf by yourself or with a friend can be a great way to study.
4. Take Some Time to Chill
It's okay to take a nap, watch an episode of "The Office," and have some friend time. Especially take some friend time because while these last few weeks of school are mostly stressful exams, they are also the last time you'll be around all of your friends every day before summer vacation. So take advantage of that with movie nights after your study group sessions!
5. Get Some Exercise
Take a walk around campus. Hit up the gym. Play some basketball. Swim! Exercise sets off endorphin's in your body that create positive feelings in your brain which then relaxes you and reduces your stress levels. Not only that, but it will make you feel productive when you're not studying! And if you really want to, you can always prop up a book or some notes on the treadmill. Just stay safe.
