Over the past few weeks, I've talked to a couple people about when they feel the happiest. A lot of them said basically the same thing: they're happiest when they're busy and active.
After talking to people and thinking a lot, I've come to the conclusion that in order to have a healthy mind, you need to have a healthy body. I'm not saying that you need to be a muscle builder or anything crazy like that. I'm saying that you need to do the things that make you happy.
You need to live a healthy lifestyle. You need to be active and stay busy. I've seen people with not the best mental health start working out and eating healthy become the happiest they've ever been.
I don't know what it was, but something clicked in my brain this past week. I saw the connection that my mind and body have. I've realized that I was at an all-time high with my mental health whenever I have a lot of plans and/or I'm working out and living a healthier life.
I realized that in order to make my mind happy, I have to start with my body. If my body is happy and healthy, my mind will shortly follow.
With school starting, it's important to keep your mental health up so that you can focus on your school work and whatever else you need to do. In order to focus on your school work, you need to take time to make sure you're happy and doing what you need to do in order to keep yourself from drowning.
I've decided that this semester, I'm focusing on my mental health more than ever. I'm going to do what makes me happy, and I'm going to make my body healthy so that my mind can be healthy as well. I even downloaded a bunch of fitness and meditation/prayer apps to be prepared!
"Treat your body like a temple, not a woodshed. The mind and body work together. Your body needs to be a good support system for the mind and spirit. If you take good care of it, your body can take you wherever you want to go, with the power and strength and energy and vitality you will need to get there." – Jim Rohn
