We may have a few weeks of freedom left but whether we like it or not, school starts back up again eventually. From avoiding the freshman 15 to craving a healthier diet, here are some healthier alternatives to unhealthier snacks you're probably eating at 3 AM.
1. Popcorn instead of potato chips
For bonus points: lightly salted popcorn instead of movie theater butter. I promise, you can make it tastier with some pepper or Parmesan cheese!
2. Dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate
Besides the far superior taste (sorry milk chocolate lovers, but dark chocolate is the best), dark chocolate is good for cholesterol and heart health!
3. Frozen yogurt instead of ice cream
We all know yogurt is good for you, but do we all know that frozen yogurt tastes almost the same as ice cream, with a fraction of the calories and fat?
4. Sweet potato fries instead of regular fries
While they're still fries, sweet potatoes are healthier than regular potatoes and their fries will leave you feeling a little less guilty.
5. Dried fruit instead of candy
In fact, eat dried fruit like it's candy. It'll satisfy your sweet tooth without all the added sugar.
6. Veggies with hummus instead of chips with ranch/other dips
And if you're having a cheat day, go for the pita bread and hummus.
