Adopt a healthy lifestyle to boost your energy
Increase your energy level to be more productive
What is energy?
Energy is an essential resource for all living beings. Energy is all the more essential to those who wish to be productive.
It is difficult to really and precisely explain what energy is. Moreover, not being an expert, I will not venture into the scientific explanation of the term. What I know, having (a little) studied physics during my studies, is that there are several forms of energy (kinetic, mechanical...). Here I am referring to vital energy, or "living energy".
However, here is how I would characterize energy: Energy is an intangible resource that we all have and that drives us .
Work on your energy level
Nevertheless, the energy we have is not a fatality on which we can do nothing. Indeed, adopting a healthy lifestyle can boost your energy to be more productive .
Personally, having played a lot of video games when I was little, I see energy as a gauge. When the gauge is full, we are in great shape and we can accomplish a lot.
When the gauge is empty, we need rest. Energy is therefore very important for anyone seeking to perform an action. One could also distinguish between physical energy and mental energy . Adopting a healthy lifestyle can boost both! We will see how.
The human system
What is the human system?
Personally, I am fascinated by creation and nature. The human body and mind are fabulous and even today there are many mysteries about it. I perceive the human body as a big machine. In fact, a system. It is our vehicle for life. We must take care of it, because it allows us to move and transport ourselves. But that's not all, the mind is also part of this machine.
It can move us even further... The human body connects what's in the mind to the real world and brings it to life, and vice versa. When I write these words, it is my fingers and my hands (the body) that allow me to concretize my thought (mind). Adopting a healthy lifestyle helps to optimize this "system" that our body and mind form.
Improve the system to improve its productivity
If I summarize, we have at our disposal an intelligent machine. This machine needs power to operate properly. Which leaves me to consider the whole thing as a system with inputs and outputs. Adopting a healthy lifestyle allows you to get the most out of this human system. Adopting a healthy lifestyle improves the performance of our body but also of our mind. This makes it possible to be more productive . Thus, there is a correlation between productivity and the lifestyle one leads. We will see later what a healthy lifestyle is and how to adopt it.
Incoming flows and outgoing flows
Influencing his life
We are all looking for more. In one way or another, the verb to have guides us and represents an end. It can be about having more or having better. It can be material as well as immaterial things. To have more or to have better, one must begin by being more or being better (this is the concept of being-doing-having ). Our life, and what we have, is the result of the actions undertaken until then.
As a result, one can choose to influence one's life and environment by changing one's lifestyle . Let me explain. Our being is a whole system. This system produces certain actions that have results in our life. To improve the results, it seems coherent to improve the actions. Our actions and our behavior stem from our way of life. Adopting a healthy lifestyle improves productivity because it improves our behavior and our actions.
To improve outputs, improve inputs
Indeed, to improve its results, it is necessary to improve its being and the way in which it is nourished. In other words, improve your "system" to get better results. It works in sport, but also in creativity or in relationships and managing emotions. In a system, there are inflows and outflows . There is a link between outputs and inputs.
When you eat, there are entrances and exits (I'll spare you the details). When you think, your ideas are the outflows. The incoming streams of your mind correspond to what enters your mind. Indeed, it can be the scene that you experienced at home during your childhood and that marked you or even an exciting book that you read recently.
So I invite you to consider your life, and yourself, as a system that has inputs and outputs. Adopting a healthy lifestyle then makes it possible to improve incoming flows to improve outgoing flows. This is part of improving being to improve having.
What is a healthy lifestyle?
An experimental approach to adopting a healthy lifestyle
The more I cared about how this "system" worked, the more I cared about the inputs I was consuming. In order to improve my condition, I began to read and document myself on various subjects to adopt a lifestyle conducive to success and the achievement of my goals.
The problem is that there is a multitude of information on the subject, especially on the internet. We no longer know where to turn or what or who to believe. Thus, to adopt a healthy lifestyle, I simply oriented myself towards an experimental approach .
As a result, I did several tests and took action. I implemented what I learned and then drew my own conclusions. In this way, I invite you to keep a critical mind and test for yourself how to improve your system. Also, everyone is different and what works in one case may not work in another. Adopting a healthy lifestyle is above all adopting a lifestyle that makes us feel good and that suits us.
Food and Productivity
body food
If you're reading this article and hanging around this blog, you probably aspire for better things in your life. I congratulate you on that because I think it's a good thing. In the continuity of what I told you previously, a subject must be addressed. To adopt a healthy lifestyle, it is necessary to take an interest in food. Food is a very important inflow to our system.
Eating well has a direct impact on your energy level and your well-being. I have tried several ways of eating and, to be succinct, I will say that nature is well made and that it is best to eat foods that are as close as possible to their natural state... Another important point in my opinion , quantity and quality should not be confused. To adopt a healthy lifestyle and to be more productive, adopting an adequate diet is necessary . I take this opportunity to add that the 3 p.m. bar after eating is not inevitable.
Food for the mind
Adopting a healthy lifestyle includes eating well. On the other hand, when we approach this subject, we too often restrict it to the nourishment of the body. And the spirit in all this? How do you feed your mind? In my opinion, this is a matter to be taken very seriously. I can guarantee you that the information we consume has a real impact on the way we think and perceive the world.
If you're looking to have more positive in your life but only consuming negative content, that's not going to help you. This therefore involves the content that we consume but also the people we meet. In short, I will not develop this point further, but to adopt a healthy lifestyle, you have to eat well. In other words, nourishing your body AND your mind in a healthy way and in line with your goals.
Physical activity boosts productivity
Physical activity increases the energy gauge
It may seem counter-intuitive at first, but physical activity makes us more energetic. Certainly, physical activity will consume your "energy gauge", but, practiced on a regular basis, it will have a positive effect on your energy level. This means in a way that your energy gauge will get longer and will be more enduring. Interesting in the long run, no? Regular physical activity leads to a healthy lifestyle and to being more productive .
produce dopamine
It's up to everyone to find the activity that suits them and their practice. Personally, I really like to train bodyweight and intensely. One of the evils of our time is a sedentary lifestyle. Do you seriously think we were designed to sit all day? The practice of physical activity has a positive influence on mood and on the mind. In fact, this is explained by the secretion of dopamine in particular. Basically, you get mentally boosted by playing sports.
Confident and cheerful
We often consider the physical benefits of sport but we forget the mental and psychological benefits. In my opinion, these denarii are superior. Self-transcendence and self-confidence are valuable tools in our lives. Your system needs to expend physical energy. Physical activity and productivity go hand in hand . Indeed, the periods during which I was the most productive in my projects correspond to those when I trained a lot.
Rest
Rest is a necessity
Adopting a healthy lifestyle could be summed up in taking care of yourself, of your human system. Like any system, our body and our brain function poorly if they are overworked. We live in a fast-paced, high-pressure society . The pace of life is not very relaxing. Moreover, stress is a reality. Indeed, it is the evil of our time. In short, rest is important. Especially since it allows you to return to the assault of your projects with full batteries (physical and mental). In other words, rest makes you more productive .
Have fun and take time for yourself
The problem is that rest is often underestimated. Also, it is misunderstood. The function of rest is to make us recover. Therefore, it is important to give importance to sleep. The question is not always to sleep more, but to sleep better. (Have productive sleep :p). Also, concerning the moments of relaxation and holidays, it is important not to skip them. A concept that I discovered in the book The 4-Hour Week is that of mini-retreats. I really liked this concept. In fact, it is a matter of agreeing to a retreat over a short and finite period of time. Thus, to be productive and adopt a healthy lifestyle, rest is important.
