We're almost done with February. It's cold, school is getting harder, and the New Year's motivation to be your best, healthy self is gone. I get it. On my time off, I don't wanna eat clean or get my butt to the gym. I wanna put on some sweatpants, grab a bag of chips, and slowly fall asleep watching Youtube videos. Here's some motivation to get you back in the mood to be a health queen/king.

Failure doesn’t mean that you shouldn't try again

I was so good about going to the gym and so willing to complete my fitness goals at the beginning of the year. Then, midterms came, I caught a cold, and all my motivation disappeared. I didn't go to the gym for weeks and my cheat foods became my diet staples. It happens to everyone, even that gorgeous instagram model. I failed but I got myself back out there. It's okay to try again. Everyone loves a comeback story. Failure is just a way of learning what doesn't work for you.

You will feel amazing

Exercising and eating clean gives you so much energy once you get into it. That sluggish feeling you may have will go away, and you'll feel like your best self. Exercise is also shown to improve your mental health, so you'll feel great inside and out.

Your skin will look better

The increased blood flow to your skin from exercise helps nourish skin cells. Also, eating right gives your skin the nutrients it wants. You'll start to glow in no time.

Your sleep will improve

Exercise and balanced eating has shown to increase the quality of sleep and boost sleep duration. So, sweet dreams. Sign me up!

The gym warms you up

That winter chill that never goes away will magically disappear after a gym session. Your blood will be flowin', and your skin will be sweatin'. It's just what you need in the winter.

Summer bodies are made in the winter

You are beautiful just the way to are and you do not need to look a certain way, but we all like to feel and look our best in a swimsuit. Putting in a little work now will give you confidence in the summer. No matter what, just know that you're gorgeous. Slay.

It’s a great way to connect with friends

Grab a buddy, hit the gym, and have fun. You'll bond because you're both going through the same pain. It'll make your workout easier and your friendship stronger.

Working out sharpens your memory

Exercising pumps oxygen to the brain and stimulates the growth of brain cells. All that helps with memory and retention. So, when you are studying for those midterms and tests, hitting the gym just might help you get that A.

Better sex

Working out improves sexual performance, pleasure, and frequency. Nutritious foods can also make y'all taste better. I'll leave it at that. Go crazy.

Stress relief

You work so hard, and you do so much. Going to the gym or discovering a fun, organic restaurant can help get your mind off the stress of life. Doing cardio sends endorphins to your body, which make you happy. Let loose. Have fun. Destress.

You are a one of a kind, smart, beautiful, and strong person. Don't let societal pressures bully you into a toxic diet and fitness culture. Do it for yourself not anyone else. Your health goals should be about improving the lovely life you already have. Making little changes to better yourself can go a long way. There is no time like the present to start on your lifestyle goals, and being healthy can look like so many things. I hope this gave you the extra push. Get out there and love yourself. :)

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
