Headbandz: The Best Game Ever

It can be hard to find something awesomely fun to do on a regular weeknight in a college town. My friends and I often find ourselves mindlessly surfing the TV channels agonizingly searching for anything entertaining. However, I have found the answer to all of our prayers.

I have recently discovered the imminent fun that stems from a game called Headbandz. For those who have never heard of Headbandz, first off let me apologize. Headbandz is, simply put, the best game ever invented. All you have to do to enjoy this game is put the provided headband on your head and flip the timer. You then pick up a card and insert it into headband, which allows all the other players to see "what you are" while you ask questions about the object until you are able to  guess what it is.

For example, I would begin by asking, "Is it an animal?" If the answer is no, I would ask, "Is it an insect?" If the answer is yes, I may then be able to guess that my card is a fly. If I get it right before the timer runs out of sand, I pick up another card. The goal is to guess as many items as possible before the timer runs out. As if the directions don't obviously explain why this game is incredibly fun, I will happily point out a few of the many reasons I sincerely love headbandz.

First of all, I play this game with my best friends, and who doesn't like having all the power while your friend anxiously and quickly asks questions like "Am I a piece of breakfast food?" To put it simply, it is hilarious.

Also, the questions are always responded to with a "yes" or "no." I find an unusual amount of joy in being able to say "no" when a friend desperately asks me if they are a giraffe, and they are actually an elephant. Their guess is so close that I feel a slight urge to say "you're warm" before I remember that this is a competition.

Headbandz gets really heated with a big group of people, which is the best way to play of course. Some people are naturally good guessers and quick speakers, which gives them an advantage in the game and makes the other players, the ones who are hesitant about which questions to ask or are sadly untalented at guessing, feel awesomely inferior.

The few reasons I have pointed out for Headbandz being the most awesome game on the market right now hardly does it justice, and I highly recommend that you pick it up and find out for yourself just how hilarious it can be!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
