Keep your head up, kid. I know that heavy feeling in your chest when you don't feel any desire to speak or move. When the process of being you is incredibly exhausting, and you attempt to make your days fulfilling, but no matter what you can't seem to connect to anything. That feeling you have crying while eating a bowl of cereal because everything is draining and you're tired. We have all been there before, many of us still are. We know that heaviness you bear.
But I promise -- keep your head up, those good days are coming.
Before you know it, you'll be laughing without thinking and you'll be smiling without forcing it. You'll be happy without any self acknowledgment or surprise. Every day will be the best day of your life, and you won't realize they're the best days until you're in the middle of them. You'll be 20 and you'll be singing along in the car to the songs you listened to when you were sad, but everything will be different, everything will be good.
Until then, take it one day at a time. Be proud of yourself for getting out of bed in the morning, sometimes that's all you can manage to do. Listen to music that makes you feel. Surround yourself with art and books and movies. But most importantly, keep your head up and keep moving forward.
