'A Head Full Of Dreams' Review

You may hate them. You may love them, but the most important thing is that Coldplay is back with a new album titled "A Head Full of Dreams." It's time to start celebrating. This is their seventh album, and comparing it to the previous album, "Ghost Stories," it is like a colorful burst of air hitting you in the face.

This isn't the Coldplay that we are use to, but it works because in order to survive as a band, you have to adapt to the times. It's safe to say that Coldplay has adapted pretty well, because "A Head Full of Dreams" is a new chapter in the story of Coldplay. It's a good start to this new chapter, and it makes me excited for what the future holds for Coldplay.

1. "A Head Full of Dreams"

Thoughts: Wow. What a start to this album. It's catchy and uplifting, plus it makes me want to dance in a field of flowers. Now is it a hit? No, but it is a good starting point for this album.

Best line: It's a love, I've just been spoken / With a head full, a head full of dreams.

2. "Birds"

Thoughts: Perhaps if the song wasn't so fast-paced it would be lovely. It might be one of those Coldplay songs that is shoved in the back of the closet.

Best line: We got this one, you and me.

3. "Hymn For the Weekend"

Thoughts: Meh. Sorry. I love you Beyonce, but it just doesn't work. If perhaps she had a bigger part then it would be better.

Best line: Life is a drink, your love's about / To make the stars come out.

4. "Everglow"

Thoughts: This is reminds me so much of the older Coldplay albums and that makes me really happy. Chris Martin is at his best when he is crooning out a song alongside a piano. It works and this is a beautiful song.

Best line: Life is as short as the falling of snow.

5. "Adventure of a Lifetime"

Thoughts: The new sound of Coldplay and I only really like the last 30 seconds of the song. It might grow on me in the future but, for now, I'll appreciate it from afar.

Best line: I'm a dream, I die by light of day / Gonna hold up half the sky and say.

6. "Fun (feat. Tove Lo)"

Thoughts: It's a nice duet. I appreciate the lyrics of the song, and maybe it will grow on me at a later date.

Best line: Crystal ball could foresee a change.

7. "Kaleidoscope"

Thoughts: No Chris Martin singing...Only Barack Obama singing "Amazing Grace" in the background. Yeah....OK.

Best line: Umm...Let's skip this one.

8. "Army of One"

Thoughts: Once you get into the song, it gets better. A lot better.

Best line: Dance with the stars, while I see the moon.

9. "Amazing Day"

Thoughts: Amazing Day is another example of Coldplay going back to their origins. It takes me back to the "Parachutes" days mixed with a bit of "Ghost Stories." It is amazing.

Best line: In your eyes, I'm drifting away / And in your arms, I just wanna sway.

10. "Colour Spectrum"

Thoughts: Just like "Kaleidoscope." Another fluff piece.

Best line: Only one lyric...I can't have a favorite.

11. "Up&Up"

Thoughts: I always find that the best Coldplay songs and ones that become my favorites are always at the end. This is true for "Up&Up." As they say in the song, "We're gonna get, get it together somehow." You can only go up from here, Coldplay.

Best line: Don't ever give up / Believe in love.

Coldplay's new album is a nice attempt in this new chapter. Is it the best album they have done yet? No. Far from it. It's nice and has some good songs on it, but it won't come close to their previous albums. It is a new chapter though in the Coldplay story, and it makes me hopeful and excited for the future.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
