Say Yes To The Nice Guy

Being single is the most rewarding and self-loving thing a person can be. You experience relationships and test the waters of the dating pool. You’ve had some great times, and you’ve definitely had some bad ones. You know you do great on your own, and why mess with that? The guy that made you feel so small, and made you rethink who you were as a person is finally gone. Now, there’s someone else and you just don’t know how to feel. Do I let him in? Do I even bother wasting another date on someone who is eventually going to stop calling? The Answer? Yes.

Everyone is different and everyone goes through different things at different times in their life. The guy that took you to dinner and then never called again probably wasn’t ready for what you had to offer. You look for any reason to blame yourself because you want an explanation that he won't give you. He wasn’t ready, but someone out there is. This someone is called “the nice guy”.

The nice guy is going to look at you and see you as the most beautiful thing inside and out. He’s going to take you on a coffee date and will want to learn everything about you. He says he’s going to call, and just when you think he won't, he will. The nice guy will listen to you vent about how work is overwhelming, and he’s going to make you laugh about it to get your mind off of it. Now, you're going to question the nice guy’s behavior and wonder why he’s like that. The answer? He’s ready for what you have to offer and he’s at a point in his life where he knows he is ready.

Do not question the nice guy’s behavior. Do not guard yourself because of a past relationship. Be yourself and know your worth, because the nice guy will know it too. He’s going to make you forget about the ones that didn’t take the time to get to know what you have to offer. The nice guy will be there for you when you least expect it. He will make you feel stronger than you already are, and help you grow as a person as well. Don’t be afraid of the nice guy because they are out there somewhere. Take a chance, be yourself, and know that your nice guy will be here any day waiting for you to recognize him.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
