Happy Birthday best friend, you're the person I tell all of my good news. Thank you for everything you've done for me. I can't put into words how grateful I am for you. I absolutely love that we met way back in sixth grade. Look where we're know freshmen in college, facetiming everyday like you never left. I could list all of my favorite memories, but I think the onethat stands out is when we saw The Twilight Saga New Moon when we just talked until the movie was over. Another one that's a close second would probably be all the memories up north.

Thank you for always loving me endlessly and treating me like a sister. I'm so grateful, I have you to share clothes with, talking about random things all at once and talking about serious topics that have been our mind. I know down the road we will be telling our stories from middle school to now to anyone who asks how we met.

I want you to know that I am so thankful that you are a part of my life, and that I would do anything for you.You are an amazing kind hearted person, and I wouldn't be half the person that I am if it weren't for you. You have been there forevery moment, have seen me at my best and worst, and still remain. Thank you for making the world, and my world, a better place.

You are so incredibly strong. Not many people know the difficulties you have overcomed, it takes a lot of strength to overcome those battles. I'm so grateful to say your strength will inspire many people. You are an inspiration and you didn't know that until now.

I hope someday when I am older that I have children and they have a friend like you. Everyone deserves a friend makes them laugh like there's no tomorrow. They deserve a friend that they can call at 3 am needing someone to talk to, just like how you're there for me. I hope someday along the road if we both get married and have kids they instantly become the best of friends just like their mamas.

Thank you for the constant reminders that I can do whatever I set my mind to even when I think I can't do them. Whether that’s acing an exam or finishing some fancy dessert I thought I had room for. Thank you for being there when I have to rant about boys because you’re always there to listen to me. Thank you for always telling me they're missing out if I don't end up with them because it's their loss not mine.

You have shown me to not just my friends, but love myself because I am one person and I will always be the one person in my life who's the only me.

I cannot wait until I visit you because I will be hugging you for hours, because since you left for school it has been quite lonely let me tell you! Even though we Facetime everyday it will definitely be better to see you in person!!

Happy 19th birthday Ivy! Love you and your crazy Bob Saget obsession

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
