Having Siblings: As Illustrated By Italian Greyhounds

You probably haven't lived with your sib in a while, but you probably remember some of this.

Having Siblings: As Illustrated By Italian Greyhounds

1. When it’s tv time, and the remote control is unclaimed.

And if you didn't get the remote before your sibling, chances are you stood in front of the monitor to "block the signal".

2. Having to steal/ coveting one-on-one time with mom.

This usually happened more when you were younger, but one-on-one time with any parent or grandparent was like a date with the queen.

3. The feeling when you watch your sibling finish all the food, your favorite snack or just blatantly take something of yours without asking.

This one is relatable even after you and your siblings don't like under the same roof, because they will always know how to push your buttons.

4. How you feel after getting paid to babysit your sib.

Even as the youngest child, I remember getting paid to spy on my older brothers and report back to mom and dad. Playing double agent was more fun playing than with their stupid toys anyway.

5. When you inevitably get caught snooping in their room...

This is probably more of a younger sibling thing, so if you're the older sibling reading this just know that your underwear drawer was definitely rummaged through at some point.

6. When a sibling gets caught doing something bad and you're suddenly the perfect child.

When your older brother got detention or when your little sister drew on the walls, you knew you were in for some pampering. This one is also somewhat applicable to siblings in their twenties, but it's usually reserved for the aftermath of your sib's terrible life choices, which makes it slightly less enjoyable. Just kidding, it's still great. Enjoy it while it lasts.

7. Looking like a spaz in family pictures, while your sibs look put together.

This photo was likely on the Holiday card your family sent out one year. Or someone's posted it on facebook as an embarrassing #tbt.

8. Two words: matching outfits.

If you were a kiddo in the 80's or 90's, then chances are you wore some matching garb for the holidays, or even as casual wear. We can only pray that our children never learn about this.

9. Trying to act like everything is fine in front of the family after you and your sibs have done some mischief.

In my experience, this is an ageless tradition. From DIY haircuts to sneaking booze; siblings always have and always will be the best partners in crime.

10. Stealing their phones and taking selfies.

"Since our faces kind of look alike, I thought you wouldn't notice thirty new pictures of my tongue."

11. And of course, the rare moments when you’re actually getting along and being adorable that are maybe even caught on camera!

These are the ones that your mom frames and gives back to you as presents . Or, if she's like my mom, gets a custom iphone case made so that literally everyone can see you and your siblings being derpy... These are also the ones that make you miss your siblings, maybe, just a bit.
