Pets are something all of us can relate to being the sweetest and most loving things on this planet. As I have been noticing with my three little babies no matter what happens they stick with me, through thick and thin.

I have had dogs my whole life big or small, young and old but no matter what something about all of the pups that I have been around is that they are there for you. This week especially I have noticed just how loving they can be. I don't believe that anything is more loving than your pets.

I have been pretty sick this week, pneumonia. I have hardly been able to get around, my whole body sore and coughing out my lungs. But, I have noticed one thing that doesn't stray from my side since I have been sick and that has been my pups.

They have been their for me, curled up as I cough through the night, softly kissing me when I have trouble breathing, or just laying with me, even if I don't want to get out of bed. Have you ever noticed that when we aren't feeling good or we just feel down our pets are always there, cuddly and warm they make us feel content and safe. As someone who has always owned at least one pet, I have noticed that no matter the animal when we get sick or we are down our pets are there for us to keep us warm and happy.

I would say to those that have not had the pleasure of opening up there hearts to a pet of any kind to think about getting a pet. Pets can be some of the best in the world, whether it's a warm dog or cat, or your fish swimming around it's tank.

What I have noticed having my little balls of fluff is that I feel better sooner rather than later because I have them beside me making me get out of bed, to walk them, feed and water them or to just play a game of fetch. Now, is there any research correlating feeling better sooner with having a pet I don't know, but in my opinion having my babies with me just makes me feel better.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
