An Open-Letter For The People Who Are Having A Hard Time Right Now

"However mean your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The fault-finder will find faults even in paradise. Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man's abode; the snow melts before its door as early in the spring. I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly there, and have as cheering thoughts, as in a palace."
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Hi, I know you're having a hard time right now. It doesn't matter if you're a kid, a teenager or an adult; the important thing here is you're struggling.

You're struggling for so many reasons, too: you lost friends or favorite things you treasured the most, you're getting low grades, have low self-esteem, are not on good terms with your parents, are unemployed, feeling down, depressed, or wanting to end your life. I know the feeling – the feeling of wanting something you can't have. The feeling of wanting all relevant people in your life to stay. The feeling of losing some things you don't want to be lost. The feeling of wanting to continue your dreams but you don't have confidence and don't trust your own abilities anymore. I know everything and I'm feeling empathetic toward you.

But as what some adults say, "Deal with whatever makes you sad. You'll become tougher. That's how it is."

As time goes by, you'll realize that you have cried so hard for so long and so many things already. Until you'll cry nothing at all. Everything is a cycle – you'll get to experience the same thing all over again. Even if you'll say that you can't get through it by now, eventually if you just endure more and more – you'll become braver, stronger, wiser, and more patient in life.

Trust me, time heals all wounds. It'll leave you some marks but the pain won't have the same impact anymore. The aftermath of yesterday's melancholy will slowly fade away. Everything is in process. Don't end your life. Take the pain as much as you can. You know you have a purpose; that's why you're here on earth – that's why you were born. Think deeply and deeply. Think about all the people who love you the most and also don't forget to love yourself more.

You can find happiness within you just don't stop on trying. Don't stop on trusting yourself. Aim for more. Live for your goals and dreams in life. Die with dignity and pride. Go to the places where those feet will take you. Be kind to all people if they aren't that kind to you but also don't ever forget to have a respect on yourself because at the end of the day no one could save you except yourself. Wander around and find your true home.

Having a hard time will eventually pass on.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
