Two guys walked into a bar. Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke right? Well, actually it is the beginning of something much more innovative, engaging, and unique.
Jonathan Hessing and Austin Schmidt, two Kennesaw State University alumni, walked into a bar to watch the Alabama vs. Auburn game (you know the one that made NCAA history?) When the climatic moment occurred, these young men had an idea.
They noticed how intense the reaction to a football game was at a bar in Kennesaw and it prompted them to wonder how much more intense it probably was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where the historic moment occurred. What if they could capture that one of a kind atmosphere.
It turns out they could. After some in-depth research of social media platforms, sponsorships, and the help of CFO, Zunier Ukani, the app "Shouty" would be created.
According to the app's website, www.shoutyapp.com. Shouty is a mobile media app that allows its users to create events that will be streamed, under its four main categories: fashion, music, sports, and lifestyle.
When someone creates an event, that person can then choose whether to stream it publicly or privately and also filter which content will go public.
If you're less of a creator and more of a viewer, Shouty caters to you too. The mobile media app allows users to see and post all public events that have been created.
With a simple swipe of your finger across your phone screen, you can now experience that one of a kind and in the moment atmosphere that the founders were hoping to capture.
Shouty is currently in the pre-launch stage and beta testing. It is set to launch this month and will be available for both Android and iOS.
So, there ya have it. It turns out not every story that starts with "two guys walked into a bar" is a joke. Sometimes it is the creation of an app.
