Still wondering where you should go on vacation this summer or where are some of the best places to go for a day-cation? Montauk, known as "The End," is a small town located on the eastern tip and South Shore of Long Island. Montauk features many great beaches, eateries, shops and tourist attractions that are great for all ages!

1. Montauk Lighthouse

The Montauk Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in New York State. First lit in 1797, the lighthouse is the fourth oldest active lighthouse in the United States and is a National Historic Landmark. Tourists are able to climb the lighthouse to enjoy the Montauk Point State Park which is located beside the lighthouse.


2. John's Drive-In

A great hub for burgers, fries and of course everyone's favorite, ice cream, John's Drive-In is a must-try eatery. Featuring great service, food, value and a family-friendly atmosphere, it's great for all ages.


3. Surf Club

The Surf Club resort is an outstanding, ideal resort for those wishing to spend time on a private beach, relax by the pool, or take short walks into town. Each duplex suite features a private deck area, Wi-Fi and kitchen areas and one and two bedroom options are available as well. The resort also hosts yoga, Pilates and group fitness classes regularly at their in-house fitness center.


4. Surfside Inn Restaurant

A country restaurant, The Surfside Inn Restaurant, family owned for 25 years, features a relaxed, slow-paced atmosphere with great service, food and a view of the water. Zagat rated, the restaurant caters to tourists and serves lunch and dinner daily as well as serves a breakfast buffet and brunch on Sunday's.



5. Creative Edge Studio

A wonderful, high-spirited and nurturing spot for dancers of all levels and abilities, Creative Edge Studio, founded and directed by Laura Sisco, features classes for ages 2+ including creative movement, tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and musical theater. A new, spacious studio, Creative Edge Studio offers summer intensives for students grades 6-8 (full-day) and grades 3-5 (half-day). Students, as well as those visiting the area looking to try out a class can participate in open classes that meet once a week. Private and semi-private lessons are offered by appointment.

Interested in a year-round program? Not a problem! Year-round classes run September-June and students have the opportunity to perform in a Holiday Show in December, as well as a Spring Recital in June.

6. Harvest on Fort Pond

A great, local restaurant open for dinner seven days a week year-round, Harvest on Fort Pond serves large, Italian, family-style portions and is a Zagat-rated restaurant. Guests are able to sit indoors or outdoors and can walk out by the pond as well.


7. Gosman's Dock Restaurant

Gosman's Dock Restaurant, located by the entrance of the Montauk Harbor, is a casual, yet wonderful dining experience for all. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, has indoor and outdoor seating and features incredible views of the Montauk Harbor.
