When you’re a kid Christmas is one of those things that is incredibly magical and special. It’s the only day out of the year that you want to go to bed early the night before and get up early that morning. It’s the most amazing day of the year; however, as you get older and things begin to change you feel like the specialness of the day is lost and you don’t know how to get it back and you wonder if you ever will. That’s what my challenge is for you here, remembering and changing.
I cant make you relive your childhood Christmases but what I can do is remind you of a few things.
When we are little all that we can think about is what we are getting, what our siblings got and how much Santa loves us. As we get older we feel that we aren’t fully getting that ‘amazing Christmas’ any longer because Santa isn’t there anymore and the feeling of the magic is gone.
So this Christmas think of it this way, not only is there still magic but its an even sweeter magic.
The Lord sent his only son to die for you. He sent his son in the form of a baby to live on this earth so that you could have a relationship with him. He wanted you. He chose you.
On this Christmas remember what we are actually celebrating. Remember that on this is the day we celebrate Jesus coming to earth and laying in a manger. So hug your family a little tighter and think of all the past Christmases you have spent with them and be grateful that they are there. Life is a fragile thing and can come and go so quickly. Don’t take it for granted.
Have a very Merry Christmas from mine to yours.
